Russell didn't found the Jehovah's Witnesses. RUTHERFORD founded the Jehovah's Witnesses.
After Russell died, the Bible Students split into two camps: Rutherford's camp (that kept the Publishing Company) and the Russellites.
The former camp changed their name to JEHOVAH'S WITNESSSES in 1931.
Subtle historical point most people do not realize.

I was raised in the Borg (daddy an elder since the arrangement started in '71), so I had a distinct disadvantage. :-(
You trust your parents. Unfortunately, now I cannot.
Asking this question, I take it you became a JW as an adult. Even when "in", never understood why an adult who had a CHOICE would come into the org. Then again, I'm now OUT, so perhaps I am biased.

during the past 100 years there have been more predictions for the end of the world than have been made in all the previous centuries combined.
many of these prophesied dates have since come and gone.. people look around and see the possibility of many different natural or man-made disasters by which the end could come.

update in the life of me
by tsunami_rid3r inok its a "my hair is too long" issue again.
i have the choice of attending all meetings until college if i just keep my hair combed and packed down so it looks short.
my dad will pay all the bills i have and i can keep/save all the money i make until college.

seriously, you need to get laid. After hooking up with a few different girls, will you truly appreciate there are MANY, MANY fish in the sea. While each person is special, NONE are worth obsesiving over, and certainly NO ONE is worth blowing your brains out over.
