i spent 2/1/2 hours suffering in the chair, (foiling and cut).
i wound up with about 6 to 7 inches lopped off and came out looking like a big haired, bubble headed 80's special.
I remember giving my cousin a bad haircut once....he wanted it pretty short to begin with, almost to the wood, but I had the wrong clipper blade on, and I gave him a landing strip right down the center of his head. I was horrified, he laughed, and we took it down to the wood, with some fancy little racing stripes at each side.....it looked real cool after all.
......never did that again. I ALWAYS check what length clipper blades I have on before going ahead.
when you eat crackers, do you lay them out salt side up, or salt side down?
do you put them in your mouth salt side up, or salt side down?.
are there any other dumb questions you can think of, to post on this thread?.
hmmm, I always put the salty side of the cracker on my tongue...dunno why....never thought about it before now..
do you put your socks on the right foot first, or the left? and is it always the same way?
when you make your bed, do you make sure the sheets are spread evenly over the mattress? or do you not care? My bed must be made evenly, the same length of sheets and comforter hanging over the sides...and tucked in tight at the end.
do you have to wet your toothbrush before adding the paste or not? I do...not sure why...
do the canned goods have to be arranged in your pantry, with labels facing out, all neat ?

I feel your pain, Restrangled. My mom used to cut my hair when I was a preteen, and the very last haircut she gave me, was horrific! She had to keep cutting, because one side was always longer than the other.....I remember the kids calling me, Dutchy.....After that, I grew my hair long.
Being a hairstylist, I remember in school, learning to look at photos, and cutting the exact style. There were some, who just did not get it it. You have to visualize the hair, at every angle. When I am cutting, I'm thinking about how the hair is going to react to the cut, how it's going to lay when I let it down, and how the client is going to be able to manage once at home. Some stylists are just not good at that. Unfortunately. I have a hell of a time, finding someone to cut my hair properly.....so I usually cut it myself. Which reminds me, I need to get my scissors out....
Chin up, go back and demand your money back. Show the manager the picture you took in and tell her your hair looks nothing like it. She should notice it, give you your money back, and give her employee hell. Best wishes hon.

i was talking to delilah the other day (she hasn't been posting because their computer broke down a few months ago).
she had a bizzarre experience at work a couple of weeks ago that really freaked her out.. the friday before easter, one of the women who works on her floor, was passing flyers out inviting people to a worship service that weekend.
It was really wierd, to say the least, Butt, and I literally jumped back.....never has that ever happened to me before, and I don't relish the thought of having it happen again.

Clam, that's interesting....going to weekly seances. Not sure I could do that myself....My husband and I were watching the Discovery channel, every Friday night, that show, " A Haunting", and finally after awhile, I decided I couldn't watch it anymore. While I do believe in the supernatural, I really do not want to invite demonic activity into my home. I do believe there is a vast difference between ghosts, and spirits and demons....and so far, what we have experienced, seems like nothing to worry about. Perhaps this is a little fall-out from having been a witness? This fear? I dunno.
A lot of those shows dealt with demons taking over the person, and on one show, the house was so full of spirits and demons, that even a priest couldn't exorcise them. The lady of the house decided she was put off by her Catholic faith, if even her priest couldn't protect her.
That's another thread, I know, but, for now, I've got all I can handle, with my little strange noises and things that go bump in the night. LOL.

Thanx Buttlight and Found my Way....I do believe, probably because I've had far too many experiences, to NOT believe, even after I've tried to rationalize everything. After awhile, you just have to accept that there ARE things we just can't explain away, and go on.
My son has "seen" a ghost, I have heard it call my name, in my husband's voice, but I had just taken my hubby to work, ( that was a little unnerving, I'll tell ya!!) and I've felt the spirit of my father-in-law, touch my hair. All of these instances, could not possibly have any other explanation, as we tried to look for one in each case.
Again, each one has his/her own opinions and beliefs, and I can only speak for myself, and my family, as to our experiences with spirits and ghosts. Ciao,

Now that I'm back on-line, let me jump in here to say, that pertaining to the subject of the supernatural, we all have our own opinions as to whether spirits and demons really do actually exist.Having come out of the borg, we are left to decipher things on our own, and to seek knowledge that we were never allowed to do as witnesses.I'm the first one to admit that the witnesses DO give the demons too much credit, everything that is wrong and bad in the world is because of the "demons" and satan, blah blah blah.Which I might add, is a load of crap, in my humble opinion.
The story that Mary told you all here, did in fact happen to me, this woman's eyes clouded over black, then back to normal again in a matter of a second or two. It happened after I told her what religion I had finally freed myself from, and it so took me by surprise, that I jumped back. I did indeed spend the rest of the afternoon trying to find logical reasons as to what had occurred, ( I'm not dillusional, or on drugs, or a sensationalist, or a liar) and finally realized, that what I saw, did happen, and I couldn't explain it.
It was not her make-up, or contact lenses, or anything of the sort, her eyes just "glazed" over, then back to normal again. Her eyes didn't roll either, it was extremely strange. I'm not asking anyone to believe me, or not, I know what I saw, and I thought it strange, so I told my husband, and Mary about it.
I've never seen anything like it before, but we have had strange things happen in our home, the latest of which, happened 2 weeks ago, while my JW mom was visiting. We were sitting outside, on the porch off the kitchen, and there were loud noises coming from inside. No-one else was home at the time, but I was expecting my daughter to come home. My mom said, " I think someone is inside", so I looked, nope. Nobody there. Went back to talking, and the noises got louder, my mom said again," Are you sure there isn't someone inside?" I looked again, then realized that what she was hearing, was our resident "ghost". I said,"Do you remember me telling you of all the things that happen here? Well, this is one of them. The noises in the kitchen happen every afternoon, between12 noon, and 3pm, I hear it so much, I don't even notice."
Her eyes got huge and her mouth dropped, she said,"Are you kidding me?" I said, "Nope, wouldn't do that to you mom." She said."You need to move." I told her it doesn't bother us, and she said, "Well it's bothering me, I've got to go home". I laughed my ass off....
So, there you have it. I believe, and there are others who also believe. I think you have to experience it, before you can become a believer....however, we are all entitled to our thoughts and opinions on this very touchy subject, and I respect the beliefs of those who strongly don't believe. That's their perogative.
This woman has since told me that she prays for me, yadda yadda, and I'm on her heart, shudder.....

i just finished reading this book called the alchemist.
it is a very compelling story about following your dreams.
what i found most intriguing about the book is the depth of spirituality it brought out in me.
Question: is forever the same kind of forever the witnesses dream of? with an entire world filled with witnesses? Cause then I'd say, "no way, Hosea".
If living forever meant living with my immediate family, and the good friends I've made since leaving the "truth", then I'd say "YES".
I too, never tire of learning new things, watching the sun set, watching the seasons come and go. I think it would be awesome to continue to chase my every whim, and never be sick, never get old, watching generations of my family grow, with new babies, never having to go to a funeral of a loved one.
I dunno, living forever does have some appeal, to me anyways, just not living it as a witness. Then again, I'm not one who gets bored easily......
i sent out wedding invitations last week.
apparently they caused my parents to get a divorce.
i got an e-mail from my mother saying that she left my dad, is filing for divorce, and that dad thinks she left because she wants to go to my wedding and he won't let her.
I'm so sorry about this, Renee. I cannot believe your grandparents were so cruel!! This religion is so screwed up...it really does destroy families.
I was going to be Df'd, a week after my wedding, and my brother's wife's family advised my family not to attend my wedding. Only my mom came, and she was crying her eyes out....my husband's family came, all the way from California. Mind you, they are not JW's...thank god.
Your wedding day will still be YOUR DAY, special and beautiful, because you are the bride. Your family will some day have regrets....I know mine does, surprise, surprise.
