I have a small nodule on my thyroid. My doctor found it 17 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. I had a needle biopsy at the time and everything was fine.
I have it checked every year and also my thyroid levels. Everything has been fine up until now. I went in Friday for the routine check. They now use a sonogram to check the size. My doctor said it had increased in size about 20 percent. So I had to have the needle again. Man, that sucker hurt and they did it three times. The nurse was really nice and held my hand through the whole procedure.
My doctor says it's unlikely to be cancerous but he just wants to err on the side of caution. Still, I'm nervous till I get the results. Meanwhile, my thyroid levels are completely normal.
Go figure.
Hope your situation gets resolved soon.

Hi Angela and welcome to the board -
Thank you for posting your story - your struggle to find out what meets your spiritual needs is very honest. My parents were non-religious Jews, so when my mom became a JW it was a shock to my system! I was a teenager and forced to participate. Eventually, my brain was "washed" and it took me almost 10 years to get out.
My last assembly was over 20 years ago at the Oakland Coliseum. That was it; I was done for a myriad of reasons. I also began a search to find out where I belonged. Experimented with Judaism, Catholicism, Religious Science, etc....still don't want to join a group and nothing seems to "fit".
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Do you ever get nausea when encountering JW stuff
by Sirona ini thought after 7 years out i had done a pretty good job of getting my mind free of the jws.. then yesterday i went on youtube and typed in jehovah's witness.
after watching a few apostate videos, i came across a pro-jw video of a convention.
as i started the video and they started singing "we thank you jehovah" i got a mega wave of nausea and felt like i had to switch the thing off.. has this happened to you?

Yes, I do get a wave of nausea when I come across all things JW. Especially when I'm not expecting to.
It's kind of like anger, fear, sadness, disgust, hopelessness, nostalgia and humiliation all wrapped up in one ball of emotion. -

Wow! Love this.
It would be difficult to choose between the two versions. Vedder's is grittier, but I also like the violins and background vocals of the original.
Thanks for sharing this. -

I love the parody of the Avril Lavigne song..."Why'dja hafta go and make things so complicated?"
Does anyone remember the name of this one?
The first time I heard it I fell over laughing.
I have three boys and we've listened to his songs repeatedly over the years - along with stuff from the Dr. Demento show. -

Favorite Stones song???
by bluesbreaker59 inok, because flipper brought up the beatles, i have to bring up the "anti- beatles".
i always preferred the rougher, raw edge of the stones, and the more guitar driven sound with a swaggering, swinging beat.. i'll go with tumbling dice, keith here was at the peak of his addictions and still came up with one of the coolest riffs.
anything from the micktaylor era is fabulous in my opinion, but sticky fingers and exile on main street are my favorite albums..

My mother was baptized in 1974 and I was baptized a year later at the age of 15.
I definitely remember lots of "buzz" around the whole 1975 thing. The folks in my cong. were very excited but trying not to show it. They kept quoting the scripture "no one knows the day or the hour" but the excitement was palpable. Everyone seemed very loving and happy to be going into the "new system" together. Even into 1976 the feeling was that the big A was right around the corner.
Of course, time passed and nothing happened. The monotony of "the truth" became unbearable and I mentally left around 1978. It took me another 5 years to physically leave.
