My sister wrote me a letter telling me how she's going to all her meetings. She has two personal bible studies a week, goes to two book studies a week plus all the other meetings. First of all my sister was a drug addict. She says she is now drug free, smoke free, and she no longer curses.
I'm glad she has cleaned her life up. But in my opinion...going to all these meetings and doing all of this studying with the JW's is just another addiction. She's over doing it...Just like with her former addictions. The thing is nobody has told her to slow down and be more balanced....whoever is studying with her is probably bragging to all the other JW's about all the progress she is making. I bet they havent even thought about the fact that she is a recovering drug addict. Addicts have a hard time dealing with reality and being balanced. Anything can become an addiction, even religion. but they don't care. All her study conductor probably cares about is the field service time she gets to report.

I remember the day i bought my first Gucci purse...i was like sixteen i was working a summer job and my first big check i went straight to the Gucci shop. They put it in this beautiful green shopping bag, that was the best shopping bag ever (i saved it for years) I felt like a had finally made it to the fashion world. Now looking back i can't believe i spent all that damn money on a simple bag that looked like a child stiched it. ( sad to say a child probably did)

well it's that time of year again ladies.....summer
I went out yesterday with my husband. It was hot. All the women and young girls alike were dressed in the tiny shorts, tube tops, bikini tops, mini skirts etc etc...so i went home and found the tightest jeans i could find and cut me a pair of daisy dukes, i also found a tight tiny top and put that on too...then i thought about it...i just couldnt do it. It's not me. I want to be a hoochie mama, but i just can't do it, maybe it's the old jw thinking. maybe i'm just too old for all that anyway. I am 30+ yrs old. so i put on a flowered top and a pair of jeans and we went to the park and watched the hoochie's stroll by. i wanted to throw rocks at them...*sigh*

INLAWS
by Es inwhat is it with the majority of inlaws that seem to thrive on making your life hell???
?my fiance's mother is really getting to me ive put up with a year of her opinions thrown in my face and year of her telling me how to raise my son.
she has completely taken over our wedding day and at our engagement her daughter who is also my bridesmaid turned up 2 hours late to our engagement party drunk and brought her friends and had her own little party, it aslso took her another hour to come and say hi to me!!!

You're on to something katiekitten...i think there is something more than parental love going on with some mothers and sons. i think that they just can't stand the thought of their sons listening to another woman and not being able to have the last say.

I feel for you....try to get a little closer to her, maybe it will get better.
I hated my ex MIL....everytime someone in the family confronted her on her selfish ways she would fake a fall...or pretend she was sick.. just to keep from having to admit being wrong. Everytime she went to the hospital the doctors could never find anything wrong but she would always tell the JW's at the hall that she had a mild stroke because of stress...I remember one time i bought her the ugliest, stinkiest, half dead bunch of flowers i could find and put them in an old coffee mug.. and i smiled big and wide when i brought them to her . then she bought me a real thick long granny gown with a hound dog print all over it.

Name Some Trivial Things That Are Big Deals To JWs
by minimus inso many things come to mind to show how silly jws sound in reality.
for example, being allowed to pass the microphones is a big deal, especially to a young brother.
or being given the "privilege" of cutting the grass or working on a "quick-build" is really something special to a jw.

I just wanted to vomit when i would attend a jw gathering (why can't they just say party?) and they made a big deal about praying over the food. I just wanted to say my own quick prayer and get on with it.
"Thank you Jah for having this wonderful occassion of getting together with our dear brothers and sisters.... thankyou for the fine wholesome association.....may we keep in mind your righteous standards and not do anything to bring reproach and shame to your name and blah blah blah may we edify ourselves with this wonderfully prepared food to nourish our bodies and blah blah blah"
