I HAVE TO MOVE ON...............
by juni ini've met some wonderful friends here at this forum, but it's time for me to put the jw religion to rest.
it will be 15 years this october that i daed myself which in retrospect i wish i wouldn't have done as there are some former sisters who i would love to give a big hug and talk with who are in pain mentally, but i can't.
i agreed to their "rules" when i was baptized.

Excellent job - I have two points:
- You should mention that after all the years of "no blood transfusions," now there are options - options that even the R&F don't really understand. Blood fractions are okay. . . what fractions? why? And what motivated the change in doctrine - not holy spirit, but the need to become a recognized religion in other countries.
- The other point was in regards to how those brothers who had previously undergone trials for not engaging in something that now "their consciences would allow" should not feel bad because Jehovah had allowed their suffering. (This just makes my blood boil !!!) Their consciences didn't change - the society told them that NOW it was okay and so with their permission, NOW they can change! An individuals conscience is not allowed to feel anything that isn't in line with the society's protocol! To do so is to be an apostate!

Be easy on you - why would we be anything other than easy on you??? The road away from the organization is a very personal one and the only place you'll really find pain on it comes from them!
It's easy to do research and find out the truth about the Truth . . . personally, I think as long as you have your eyes open and KNOW what's really going on - if you choose to remain there for whatever your reasons are, then fine. I feel for those who are in and are clueless to the fact that they're being duped. Some people need that structure in their lives (like those who thrive in the military). If it works for you, then good.
For most of us, however, once our eyes were opened, we were no longer able to stomach being associated with the organization. At least that's how I feel. Doesn't make leaving any easier - those are still our families, friends and lives back there - but having the truth makes it worth it.

As a JW, did you ever stand for the national anthem ...
by Frequent_Fader_Miles inmy conscience wouldn't allow me to do otherwise.
after all, this is the country that schooled me and fed me.
i use all the infrastructure here, and am entitled to all rights and benefits that any other citizen was entitled to.

They knocked this morning, dog was NOT happy.
by Odrade inthis morning an older gentleman knocked on our door to give us the leaflet invite to the d.c. which is being held locally this year.
my husband answered because i was still in my oh-so-sexy stretched out hot pink pajamas.
neither of us recognized him, but i knew the name because my parents talk about him sometimes (friends.

Missing my siblings wedding
by NYCkid injust releasing some steam, but i'm going to be missing my siblings wedding this summer due to the fact i'm dfd.
my sibling invited me but i can't justify the travel expense (across the country) to observe a 20 minute ceremony and then go to a motel alone while everyone is stuffing their faces.. i just hits at the core of human relationships and is so divisive, but that is the point.
after months of no communication, my mother calls me this week to remind me of what i'm missing out on.

Hey Girl - you brought back some memories. My sister was DFd when I got married. I wanted her there, but didn't know what to do, but most of my family were non-witnesses and I figured what's the big difference. She decided to forgo the wedding at the hall and just come to the reception. (Why I don't really remember.) But anyway, she sat at the family table and enjoyed herself with them.
I was thrilled that she was there and glad that no one choose to make a big deal of it. Looking back, I guess it was a little miracle. But it caused a lot of heartache for her and I before the event.
(((hugs))) - I truly hope it works out for you.
