anyone here ever go on a cruise with a large group of JW's?
by PaNiCAtTaCk inive been on two cruises in the early 90's with large amounts of witnesses.
one cruise we had around 85 and the other 175. one night on the larger jw cruise there were 50 or so of us watching this comedian.
he started getting a little crude using words like penis so we all got up at the same time and walked out during his act.

Is there any way I can just cream skim the Truth????
by HiddenQuestioner ini have been lurking for some time and only recently started to post if you have seen my posts, i have always represented myself as a loyal jw and one who is planning to stay in however, lately my faith and commitment as a jw has been tested and, without going into details, i am having problems of faith and life that i could really use some help on.
if so, you might ask, why dont i just leave?
well, i have a wife that is a very devout jw and she would be crushed and very upset if i quit she believes it all 100% and lives to worship the borg in fact, she would be very upset if she even knew i was visiting this site.

You know what, I think that your plan sounds fine, and that you should go with it for as long as it is working for you. Probably better off donating your money elsewhere, but hey you have free will..... I like this: This will mean that I will plan to get all my self-esteem from my rewarding work. This will mean I will focus fisrt on my family/home, the work and then personal life and then lastly my life of being a “cream skimming” JW....... Also take up some personal interests; look into a hobby, go once a week for a while. Suggestion for later on: change nights to a meeting night ('have no choice honey, that's the only night it runs'). Even booking some adult education classes for that night will be a lot better for you than the cognitive dissonance you'll be suffering at the meetings, and you'll enjoy meeting people you have something in common with.... Field service, actually yes that's very ugly. I like your minimal effort routine and say go with that for now. Consider saying that you'll be doing street witnessing (on your own because that's more effective), and just kill the time instead. Find people to take you on calls. I doubt the validity of at least half of the reported hours spent out on the preach.... All the best.... Sorry if the formatting stuffed up.

We all have our talents and gifts, and it's a crime not to use them. Have a great time!

Hi there chicken! Lay low for a while. Be a bit invisible. You need a lot of time to work your stuff out, and be careful who you trust - my own parents came for my blood in the end!

Love it all... wanted particularly to reply to this: These last few months have been difficult. My family has been repeatedly requesting answers from me as to why I’m no longer attending meetings. At times, these conversations became fairly heated. I have been pushed to do something that I sincerely did not want to do....It was then that I realized that they weren’t going to let this go and the time had come to take care of matters. Sad and crazy how they push you away and go for blood. I'm sure that deep inside they know that it's wrong and that's why it's hurting them, but they do it anyway; our own family betray and hurt us. My folks (I'm 'no longer a JW' - I was disfellowshipped but I wasn't there for the announcement so I didn't hear it's format, not that it matters - shunning is shunning...) sorry... my family now want to know how much of an effort I'm making to go back, and when I eventually tell them 'none', I'll never hear from them again. I have no idea why they want to create their own persecution; maybe the pain and confusion validates the 'last days' claims. Anyway, much respect to you!

by jwfacts insorry how long this is but i found the meeting very exciting.
the short version is i said directly that i do not believe in the wts, feel being d/f is unfair on my jw family so asked them to just leave me alone.
it didn't work.

Oh bro, you must be so completely wired right now.... I have so many things to say, I can relate to that feeling you had coming out of the meeting, it's such a horrid experience, you'll be reliving it for years. I just don't know where to start! Firstly, congratulations. I was watching your story for a while and was so sure you'd be d'd and felt the hurt it was causing you. I can also relate to you wanting to spare your family their pain; the reason I put my exit off for so long. If it ever bothers you, remember that this was a great reason to do this the dramatic way: But the third brother is about 35 with a wife. He sat for the entire time leaning forward on the edge of his seat with his eyes popping out of his head. He told me last week that this case was having an extremely difficult affect on him. I will be interested to see how his faith is affected in the long term as my last words to him were, ‘How many families do you plan to destroy during your time as an elder?’ ... you might have gotten through to him. One day he might hear what you said. Now, to your family; it's been a while for me and I've come to the simple conclusion that I don't want the conditional love of anybody. I know I can't accept the cult practices, and that they foolishly think it's good for them. I don't think I even want to change their minds about it, knowing how difficult it is to make the transition. But here I am, happier than I ever thought I could be. I'm also making friends that I never knew existed. Real, loving people exist out there, you just have to be out there to find them. One day you'll be an ex-ex-witness. When this all gets you down, focus on that; that one day you won't even care any more! How great is that!? Much, much respect, congratulations and hugs to you!

How stupidly Zealous were you when you started off as a JW's?
by JH ini knew a brother who would walk 3 miles at -20 degrees to get to the field service meeting.
he wasn't baptized yet, and was new in the organization.

As I was baptised, I looked over at a picture of Jah on his throne with light streaming from him, and I postively glowed with holy spirit for months. Until that time I was pioneering and had to take a whiz in somebody's front yard because we'd been out too long, and I walked too far into their property and they saw me from their upstairs window. I reported about five hours after that, and finally got myself booted.
Every day gets better baby!!

Watchtower Quotes now on WatchtowerInformationService.org
by Rado Vleugel ini have added the section watchtower quotes to watchtower information service.
these quotes were originally published on quotes.watchtower.ca; the website that has been shut down by the watchtower society.
i have not mirrored the quotes-website, but integrated it into watchtower information service.
