ANGER MANAGEMENT THERAPY---IT WORKS!
by Mary inwhen you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don't know (like someone at the hall).
i was sitting at my desk when i remembered a phone call i'd forgotten to make.
i found the number and dialed it.

Need Some Hugs and Humor
by love2Bworldly inhi--can you people please tell me things are going to get better for me and my family?.
to make a long story short, a bunch of my siblings and cousins own some property that has been in escrow since january.
some people are not speaking to each other any more because they can't believe we want to get money for this sacred property that my grandparents owned and-- because we want my 53 year old pot smoking brother who does not hold down a regular job, bathe regularly or have a life, and does not pay rent, to move off the property.

Hi--can you people please tell me things are going to get better for me and my family?
To make a long story short, a bunch of my siblings and cousins own some property that has been in escrow since January. Some people are not speaking to each other any more because they can't believe we want to get money for this sacred property that my grandparents owned and-- because we want my 53 year old pot smoking brother who does not hold down a regular job, bathe regularly or have a life, and does not pay rent, to move off the property. Meanwhile, my spouse and I work our butts off and support our kids, and pay child support for some of my step kids, and are barely putting food on the table. All our bills are overdue and my car almost got repossessed. How selfish of us to want to get our portion, about $90,000 so we can get out of debt and put food on the table!
Anyway, I may get the money at the end of May if the title company doesn't put another 60 day hold on it because one of my cousins is wacko and would not sign the paperwork. (She is schizophrenic literally)
I just need to vent. I can't pay the bills and I'm scared, and feel like I'm treading water in a vortex.
Please tell me things are going to get better. My circle of friends is small since I am pretty busy with my family and working.
Is it because I am not relying on hoover? Actually I do pray but not to hoover. I just need a sense of humor to get me through. Please send me some humor. Thanks!

can a person be disfellowshipped without knowing?
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel incan a person be disfellowshipped and not know about it?
me and my husband have been shunned the moment we stopped attending meetings.
no one has ever called and only a few have come by over the last 2 years.

I did not even know about this until the last couple weeks when I started reading this website regularly. I guess I did not get disfellowshipped after I became inactive because my loyal jdub sister still speaks to me.

Hi--I have learned that basically everything to do with humans has either a Pagan origin or stems from humankind's strong sense of sexuality.
Wow--makes it really hard for JWs to live on this earth.

You people are hilarious! I love all the comments. I would definitely buy some, and the idea to slip them into a bunch of Halls is a great idea! Or maybe roll one up the aisle during a talk and let it unroll! Of course the meeting attendants would be quick to snatch it up. Oh I just had a revelation--TP all your favorite JW houses with it!

Were any of you "Self righteous" in the begining?
by new boy ini know i was!------------ in my "20s" there was no one more "self righteous" then me.
i thought everyone should be pioneering since we were so close to 1975!.
i actully had a card make up to hand to people saying "have sword will travel"------on the bottom it said a a a {available after armageddon} because i tought anyone who got married before then was a slacker.. what a "jerk" i was!!!.

I was definitely self-righteous and at this point in my life, am ashamed of the way I used to view other people. Especially 'worldly people' who were often better people than the JWs.

I'm not one to get into celebrity gossip but,
by heatherg inwhat do you all think of prince charles and camilla?
i think it's horrible and teaching a horrible lesson.
look at us, it' okay to cheat on your spouses, because in the end we'll get each other anyway.

I think Diana was young and naive and had no idea what she was getting herself into. From the early pictures, she looks very happy and in love with Charles. He was an English a hole as far as I'm concerned, but she obviously had her personal problems too. But it seemed like he was mean to her and very open about his other lover.
I could care less that Charles married his long time lover, except I am shocked that Charles is not going to step down from the throne. He really should give the throne to his first born since he has acted like such a horse's butt over the years.

Welcome Harpy! I am also a newbie, about 2 weeks or so. It's very theraputic here and I love my new internet friends. It's weird because I've never been involved in any kind of chatroom or message board before.

I'm happy for you--tread lightly though.
My sister and I have a pretty great relationship the last few years but I'm always walking on eggshells around her, she lives out of town so it's easy to do that. The other day (she's in town this week) in front of me she handed my daughter an Awake and said she thought we would enjoy reading it. I feel leary because I guess I'm afraid if my daughter or I say the wrong thing, she will shun us. Sometimes I feel kind of silly because my daughter and I can't be ourselves around my sister, we try to put on this act. She did come by my house once around Halloween and I had all kinds of decorations up, but she didn't come unglued like I was expecting. You just never know about people, but I sure have enjoy having my sister back as a family member and I'm hoping it lasts.

If there's some good in the Watchtower, why leave it?
by AlmostAtheist inthe post about crisis of conscience in which the poster said he knows there's some bad in the watchtower (as brought out in coc), but there's some good in it too got me to wondering about people that stay for the good in it.. the united states makes some decisions as a country that i don't agree with, perhaps even object strongly to.
but i don't disavow my citizenship.
it's mostly a good place to live, so i stay.. if you want to live in a way that utterly conflicts with the watchtower -- homosexual, multiple sex partners, smoking, whatever -- then you have reason to leave.

God likes to use 'losers' to get His will accomplished.
Wow that brought back a memory. They used to always quote that scripture about God choosing the weak and broken people out of the earth or something like that. I can't remember the wording of the scripture.
