Should I marry a JW ?
by curiousabouthim ini am new to the jw world, not one, but do love one.
met a man who down to the tee is amazing.
he is a great man, the only thing i am not so sure about is his "religious" beliefs.

Don't tell your boyfriend that you are visiting this site for info. JW's are taught to not do research on the Internet or talk to ex-JWs. Do you know if he is baptised? I am surprised he is dating you and my guess is that he hopes to convert you.
I wish you much luck on your decision, but if you marry him you will be in for a lot of heartache. Even if he ends up leaving the religion, a lot of JWs end up leaving and then going back; the brainwashing they do can be pretty successful on those who are not willing to do research on all the skeletons in the Watchtower Society's closet.
FYI--your sex life will be limited, as they have a lot of laws regarding how a man and wife act in the bedroom.
Also--beware of showing interest in the religion and then changing your mind. They often shun people who were never baptised into the religion.

Why is it so hard for people to be kind ?
by oldflame inrecently i have noticed a difference in peoples attitude towards others.
i remember the day when others would open the door for you or smile when they look at you.
i remember the day when you were merging onto traffic and people would let you in.

I want to move where GaryBus lives!
I really want to get out of California when I retire. I want to live in a smaller, slower paced place that is pretty.

Physical attributes in men and women
by greendawn inthey say that in women (physical) looks are the most important factor for attracting a mate whereas for men it is other things eg personality, wealth, status, as if there are a lot more aspects to male existence.
.
so how would you choose (or did) choose a mate, eg was a woman's physical side of paramount importance or did you also weigh that seriously against character personality, culture, etc.

I want to ask you guys out there--over 40 years, if as you age--do you put less emphasis on looks? And also to you guys--I have put on a little weight although I carry it well, it makes me feel very self-conscious; how important is a woman's weight if she is attractive and takes good care of herself? Reason I am asking--I try to walk a mile every day, drink a lot of water, and eat pretty healthy, non smoker and all that--but I am fighting with the scale--is being a little overweight a turn-off? There is SO MUCH stress in the media, in magazines etc. for a woman to be thin.

In Home Elder Care
by love2Bworldly ini need help--i am researching the cost of live-in elder care-givers.
do any of you either get paid to do that for a living, or have parents that have live-in help?.
i need to know what the average cost is for an elderly person who is reasonably independent, to have a live-in person provide transportation to the doctor and basically provide general help to the household..
