As a mother of 3, I doubt a 2 year old would make something like that up. That is something an older kid might make up. Your story gave me goosebumps, hope your new house won't be like that all the time. I don't believe in 'ghosts' per say, but I do believe that people have these type of unexplainable experiences. I believe in evil spirits who like to play tricks on people.

Saw 'The Exorcist' first time last night. You'll NEVER guess what happened!
by nicolaou innothing.. ten years ago i'd have chosen to have a limb amputated rather than let 'satan' into my head by watching such a 'demonic' movie.
well i watched it right through and i thought it was a good movie - if a little dated.
it finished just after midnight and i went straight to bed having turned all the lights out (and brushed my teeth .

Funny how I used to always have nightmares about demons when I was a JW, but don't have them anymore. Makes me think it's the JW's who are demonized.

Fantastic sayings
by PaulJ ini just thought id create a thread for all the great saying and phrases you have heard.
my favourite is "bingo wings"- a name given to the chunky flesh that seems to be trying to escape the arms of (usually) older women.
best viewed at bingo, when they throw their arms in the air and should 'house'.. any more for any more?

Does the WTS disfellowship mentally challenged people?
by Elsewhere in.
has anyone ever seen a situation where the wts disfellowhiped someone who is autistic, retarded or otherwise mentally challenged?.
i wonder if the elders give them more leeway knowing that they are not always capable of making decisions as well as a normal person.. .

I knew a family who had an adopted daughter who always had behavior/emotional issues. I grew up with her, she was the same age as me and in special education at school. She was disfellowshipped last I knew of her. I don't think she could live on her own, but I'm not sure.

I Saw Dubs.... In 80+ Degrees at 11:00 AM Today In Full Uniform
by HappyDad infor the first time in over a year..........maybe longer.............i saw dubs in fs at 11:00 am today as i was about to enter a local eatery for lunch.
i just had to stop and watch them for a couple of minutes with mixed feelings.
these feelings went from loathing to pity.......no iota of guilt on my part though!

You people crack me up. I'm so happy to not feel guilty anymore that I despise feeling like a vacuum cleaner salesman, talking to strangers who have no interest in the Jehoovers Witlesses.

Problems in paradise
by gringojj ini know there are a ton of problems with the idea of paradise.
i was just thinking about how much sense it doesnt make.
for example how is it supposed to work as far as housing arrangements?

I used to wonder if we would ever have natural distasters anymore that has helped shape the earth--earthquakes, volcanoes, tornadoes, etc.
I also used to wonder what if I cut my finger or tripped and fell? Would people still bleed and get hurt, or would their perfect bodies have super fast healing powers?
And would animals still get diseases? And would we still get bit by mosquitos?
The list goes on and on.

What Was THE Straw That Broke Your "Camel'...
by Francois inthere are lots of outrageous things that have happened to each of us in our longer or shorter association with the jay-dubs.
but it's amazing sometimes what teeny things have been the final straw.. being raised as a jw, i swallowed most stuff whole my entire life.
then, as a teen began to question some things, but waited patiently for jehovah to straightened things out.

Mine was all the stupid counsel about staying single and childless in this system of things. I wanted to have a family and knew in my heart it was a very normal desire and that I should not have to feel guilty about it.
