Actually I think the KH I spent the most time at (my first hall) had mostly good-hearted men who were nice people, believe it or not. As much as I hate the BS society, I honestly had good feelings toward a lot of families in my KH. Of course that is from the viewpoint before I was DF'd/reinstated. Once I tried to start coming back--I could feel the fakeness in their attitude toward me and it was never the same. They really looked down their noses at me after I fell out of good graces.

New member - quick hello
by melmoth injust registered and thought i'd say hello.
been browsing the board here occasionally for a while, and thought i might want to join in now and then, so here i am.
for me, a lot of this brings up odd memories from long ago - though for many struggling in the jehovah's witless grip currently, it's clearly a lifeline and i wish it had been around when i was 'doing the fade' (as i've seen it referred to, and a great way to put it, btw) nearly 20 years ago.

Most holidays have a Pagan origin. But so do round baked cakes, wedding rings, and so many other things that I forget right now--but the real issue is that almost everything has a Pagan origin but the JW's mostly single out holidays. Cult groups like to isolate people from their family and friends--this is the real reason behind not celebrating holidays and teaching to stay away from people who are not JWs.

I'm giving plasma tomorrow!!
by Frog inwell actually i'm giving the whole bit, plasma, platelets, while/red cells...for the first time and i'm very excited!
sounds very massochistic, but it's not for the love of pain, it's just that it's taken me so long to become mentally ofe' with it.
i've had a mental block about it for so long, but have gradually enabled myslef to overcome it by educating myself more fully on the subject.

Dust--gets to be an inch thick in one week! Also cobwebs--have a super high ceiling in the livingroom and huge cobwebs have been in the upper corners now for over a year because I need to buy a pole or something. Landlord should have given us something to use as I am sure he had them cleaned before we moved in, but he is a jerk anyway.
Oh--and let's not forget the upstairs toilet that gets stopped up about once a month! Grrrrrrrr

This person is full of it and obviously just trying to piss people off. Or maybe he really believes this stuff that sounds like it's right out of a Witchtower magazine.
Just for the record--I have never taken drugs other than prescription, never had an orgy, am a faithfully married woman, never been involved in criminal activity, only gambled a few times in my life--could care less about it. And I also have not suffered great abuse personally from the BS society. So you are way off base. I got tired of idiots preaching what is not in the Bible and scriptures taken out of context to suit their whims.
