Does WTBS believe in UFOs???
by ShadowX ini personally don't really believe in it, well certainly didn't see anything yet that would convince me otherwise.
but browsing wtbs cd-rom i've come across quite deliberate reference about ancient ufo sightings which are intriguing.
even though later article goes through usual wtbs reasoning that tries to put a lid on any inquiry by "faithful christians" i cannot but wonder if they are themselves actually believing it.

Lonely JW Ex Hubbie
by Lehaa injust got back from picking up my kids from my ex.. he'd called me to come pick them up early as he was trying to get some work finished and our daughter was cranky and getting in the way.
not a problem, it was not his weekend to have them, he's had them to help me out.. any way i get there and he looked terrible, realy sad and beaten.. i said he looked really bummed, he said he was and had been for a while.
i asked him if he had anyone to talk to and he said no.. i really felt sorry for him, really felt like inviting him round for dinner and a bottle of wine but knew that was not a good idea.. we stood there talking for about an hour.

A Methodology for the Typical Unification of Access Points and Redundancy
by Elsewhere inhttp://www.cnn.com/2005/tech/science/04/14/mit.prank.reut/index.html
mit students pull prank on conferencecomputer-generated gibberish submitted, accepted.
cambridge, massachusetts (reuters) -- in a victory for pranksters at the massachusetts institute of technology, a bunch of computer-generated gibberish masquerading as an academic paper has been accepted at a scientific conference.. jeremy stribling said thursday that he and two fellow mit graduate students questioned the standards of some academic conferences, so they wrote a computer program to generate research papers complete with "context-free grammar," charts and diagrams.. the trio submitted two of the randomly assembled papers to the world multi-conference on systemics, cybernetics and informatics (wmsci), scheduled to be held july 10-13 in orlando, florida.. to their surprise, one of the papers -- "rooter: a methodology for the typical unification of access points and redundancy" -- was accepted for presentation.. the prank recalled a 1996 hoax in which new york university physicist alan sokal succeeded in getting an entire paper with a mix of truths, falsehoods, non sequiturs and otherwise meaningless mumbo-jumbo published in the quarterly journal social text, published by duke university press.. stribling said he and his colleagues only learned about the social text affair after submitting their paper.. "rooter" features such mind-bending gems as: "the model for our heuristic consists of four independent components: simulated annealing, active networks, flexible modalities, and the study of reinforcement learning" and "we implemented our scatter/gather i/o server in simula-67, augmented with opportunistically pipelined extensions.".

Platonic Friendships....
by diamondblue1974 inthere are some conflicting views on this subject; when i was a teenage jw i was friends with someone of the opposite sex and we were the best of mates...nothing sexual, no attraction in that department at all but it was frowned upon by those in the congregation (as you can probably imagine).. my ex wife never believed a man and woman could be just platonic...hence no longer with her...but..now being somewhat older (and a teeny bit wiser .
what do you think though, do you think a man and woman can be just friends and more importantly has this view been changed since leaving the jw's?.

Albert Einstein and his nature of turning inward?
by frankiespeakin ini would like to here your opinions about ae even if you don't know much about him,, what do you think about him according to what limited knowledge you have of him.
i think this would be fun for our imagination.
i bet those that have a mystical nature might have some interesting things to say as well as you science buffs.. i think he was very introverted,,had great intuitions,, a very lively imagination,,and had perhaps experinced enlightenment perhaps not as much as some mystics but quite abit atleast that's what i gather from the recient thread i started which has some quotes of his ideas about spirituality.
