Thank you...I value your advice. I HAVE kept rapport with my son for the last 4 years. But don't you think I should DO SOMETHING to help him see the deception of the WTS? By gently and lovingly asking strategic questions about the WTS, don't you think he will eventually realize he's been duped?

My son has invited me to his KH to hear the CO's talk. At first, I thought of saying no...but then thought it might be a good opportunity to gather more "ammunition" to ask him some more hard, thought-provoking questions about his "lovely" religion.
Do you have any advice for me?

Those are really GOOD questions!! I hadn't thought of those. That would make him realize that the WTS's once staunchly-held beliefs have CHANGED. What's up with that?

Ohhhh, I'm sorry.....I feel for you so much. It's a REAL FEAR I have that my son & dil will have a child someday.....and that child, my precious grandchild, will be forced to live the deprived JW life. JW children are really the ones who suffer the most.
I'm glad for you...at least...you are allowed to see your grandkids. I've read lots of stories where the "unbelieving" grandparents are cut off from their grandchildren. It really is a horrific and sickening organization, isn't it?

Very, very interesting. Thanks for all the comments....as this helps me understand the inner workings and mindset of Witnesses.

Boy o boy....how I wish I knew that one for sure! I've asked him some pretty hard questions about the WTS, and hopefully have planted some seeds. Now, my objective is to just maintain a good relationship with him and keep the lines of communication open. Someday, when he wakes up and realizes he's been duped by a cult....he will lose all his "friends". He'll need someone he can trust. That would be me.

The poor guy. I have this feeling that he's starting to see through the WTS lies, but doesn't DARE say anything....for fear of losing his Gung-Ho JW wife. At least I HOPE he's starting to see through it...and not just wishful-thinking on my part.
I've been reading lately how the internet has really opened many JWs eyes. That gives me hope for sure!

I was wondering....if a person is NOT baptized yet, do the Elders still put pressure on the person to do more, ie field service, talks, etc. etc.? Or...is that person still treated as if in the honeymoon stage?

after reading parts of you can live forever in paradise on earth p.159 and survival into a new earth p.31.. note, ever jw i cane across never heard of survival into a new earth.
here is what i have come up with.. you can live forever in paradise states, faithful jw will have to clean up the mess after the big a. this means.
they will have the privilage of cleaning up the earth.
So, if my math is correct......EACH "lucky" JW will have to bury over ONE THOUSAND skeletons!
I hope they keep their bottles of Bengay safe through the Big A!
here lately, i have just been wishing that i could just fast-forward through my remaining years on earth and just die to get this nonsense all over with.. i have only myself to blame.
if i had gone through with my attempt to leave this hokey religion about sixteen years ago when i attempted to--before i got married and had kids--then maybe i wouldn't be teetering on the very slippery edge of sanity.
instead i punked out, buckled under the threats of shunning and guilt of abandoning family members, and so here i am--looking into the mirror every morning wondering when the nightmare is going to end.

I've never been a JW, so I really cannot say I fully understand what you're going through. That would be pretty presumptuous on my part. But, I sure can empathize with you.
But anyway, I HAVE read many books on the subject to try to educate myself re the WTS. There have been many JW husbands who have gotten their JW wives OUT...as I'm sure you know. It seems like the best method would be to gently, ever-so-subtly, in casual conversations mention one thing about the WTS that just doesn't make sense to you. And then ask if it makes sense to her. Just pick ONE thing every month or so. Go very slowly. Then DROP IT. It doesn't matter if she doesn't answer your question. At the least, you'll be planting seeds of doubt in her mind about the Organization.
This was just a thought I had... to try and help. I don't know.....maybe you've already tried something like this.
