Thanks guys. And honestly...I know that there are people out there who hate pit bulls and will never change their views. I'm not trying to convert anyone. All I'm trying to do is educate those who haven't yet formed an opinion. You can't make a vegetarian love a steak, ya know?

And exjw, you're absolutely right. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. When I was growing up, my aunt and uncle next door raised pit bulls. I was over there everyday playing with them. They were well trained, and very well taken care of and they never even showed their teeth to me. On the other hand...my dad brought home a cocker spaniel that his friend at work got rid of. I was playing with the dog in the livingroom one night. I reached down to get the ball and throw it, and she jumped up and bit me on my face. It went clear through my cheek and I spent the night in the ER getting stitches. My dad shot the dog.

Point being....any dog can be vicious...don't narrow it down by breed only.

Did demons ever really rape some sisters?

i had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.

in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.

anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

Weirdly, it seems like this Demon-rape hallucinating always happens to extremely religious people.....and never to Atheists. Why's that?

Because they needed something to blame their dirty dreams and fantasies on, and needed some kind of rational explanation when they walked in on their kid yanking it in their bedroom late at night.

The rumor when I was young (this was right around the time when that crapband Incubus came out) was that apparently some girl was caught by her parents ummmm....''tending'' to herself. Of course she had just bought the Incubus cd. She said that everytime she played the cd at night, the demons would make her do it....OOOOOO! There was a major crackdown on Incubus cds after that...which I personally didn't mind b/c I hated the band anyway. I laughed when I was told the story.

The ''demunz'' are just a scapegoat for things that make them feel dirty.

What would be something you'd like from secret santa?

i am already thinking of ideas.

my sister had an online relationship with a man from holland (they are now married in the us) anyhow, they would send eachother packages and the coolest things he would send was different foods from there... cookies the us doesn't have, chocolate spread for toast.... this is my first gift exchange since i was a kid, so anyone have some ideas?

Cats, anything pink is good, I just moved into my own apartment, so any home decoration stuff (anything cool and modern), tshirts are cool, coffee mugs, candles, coloring books and crayons (REALLY!), and if it's from someone in another country I would love something popular with your culture, like a food item or something like that, and anyone is welcome to pay off my car or credit card (joke).

Really anything is good. I'm not a picky person, and just the fact that someone I've never met is willing to mail me a Christmas present is enough to tickle me pink!

i remember a story running rampant when i was in my pre-teenage years that went a little something like this:.

Word on the street was that a young child went to the circuit assembly with his parents. The child brought a little stuffed toy with him. However, this wasn't just any cute cuddly stuffed toy. This was one of those little blue demons that worldy people call Smurfs. Anyways, the stuffed little Smurf, got up in the middle of the assembly and walked out the door. Apparently the demon inside the stuffed toy could no longer take the "light" and "truth" inside the assembly hall and had to get out with the quickness.

Hmmmm....the version I heard was that it took place at a kingdom hall and it was a teenage girl w/ a smurf in her purse. The smurf walked out of the purse during the opening song, and went down the aisle and out the door, yelling the whole time, ''I can't take this $hit!''

I wonder who started that damn story.

This show is so weird, that I am about to stop watching. I think the writers don't even know, and are making it up as they go along, in true soap opera style. Then new writers will come on who will write storylines that don't work because of the other events that they aren't familiar with..............just like on soaps.

Ah! Quite to the contrary. JJ Abrams has said that they have the entire script written out. So they DO know what's happening from beginning to end. He said that if it ever gets to the point where they end up getting cancelled, they're just gonna wrap the ending up in movie form....which is what I'm sort of hoping for, b/c I'm tired of getting my a$$ tickled by a feather.

I'm beginning to think that, as the number of DF'ed & DA'ed & faded "bad associations" continues to increase, the pressure to conform to the society's hard line of "no contact" will reach some sort of critical mass or tipping point.
At some point, there's going to be a lot more reaction like your mom's, who in effect say to the Society, "screw you, I'm still her mother" and associate with their family, regardless of status.
Imagine the effect of having a majority of JWs ignore the Society's mandates to avoid association with DF-ed family. With fear of isolation & shunning gone, the organization would collapse like termite-riddled house.

Now I'm wondering how long this is going to last....is she really wanting to stay in contact, or will she drop me again after a week? You have to remember....I haven't had contact with her for basically 2 years, aside from that crazy voicemail she left me back in June... I just don't want to get hurt again. As much as we fought and cried and yelled...I still love her...she's my mother...I would love to have a relationship again. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

And then I had one last night where she came to tell me she was going to Hawaii (?) for 10 days. I started freaking out and holding her, and I wouldn't let go. I remember in the dream she carried me to my room and tucked me in my bed...

So I'm sitting here at work on a call, and my cell starts buzzing. I glance at it and it's a number from Florida. Right away, my hands started shaking and I felt like I was hyperventilating. I didn't answer, and then my voicemail icon popped up. She left me a message asking me to call her back. So I just gathered myself, and called her. And it went GOOD! She basically said she just wanted to see how I was doing, how I liked my new job, and how I liked living on my own. We talked to each other about our pets and she told me to call her every now and then since I have her number now.

And she said, ''I love you,'' when she told me bye...I said, ''I love you too mom.''

God I just want to go scream and cry and laugh, and run down to Florida and see her and hug her....but I have to keep it together and do my job here at work. Can't get emotional can't get emotional...

My head's going to explode.

It just hit me that I miss my mom...
