I can think of one that reminds me of my flight from their clutches!
"My Life" -Billy Joel
i was just sitting here listening to a song by breaking benjamin called "rain" and it reminded me of the witnesses.. ""rain".
take a photograph, .
not a dollar or a crowd could ever keep me here, .
I can think of one that reminds me of my flight from their clutches!
"My Life" -Billy Joel
hearing about the child molester in glasgow who has been charged but not disfellowshipped did cause me to think a little;.
as an apostate you can be shunned without the need for a jc meeting irrespective of the fact that you might be repentent (not if you have any sense though); however the child molester mentioned hasnt been disfellowshipped!!?
?...if this is true doesnt it clearly highlight the wts f**cked up sense of morals?.
Paedophilia is a crime against man... a sin against a fellow human.
Apostasy is a sin against GOD.
Think like a witness again for a second and the answer will be crystal clear!
You can repent from being a Paedophile... Apostasy is an unforgivable sin.
i used to live with many regrets, thinking that i'd screwed up.
recently, i've been thinking that regretting past actions is not constructive.
sure, we should base our current actions by assessing the results of our former actions, but regretting decisions we've made is, in effect, yearning to change the person we are now or rejecting ourselves.
I like who I am now and I am not sure if I would have gotten to this point if my past had been different.
So, NO I wouldn't change my past, cause if I did, who knows what I would be like now.
a few years ago my brother - law admitted that at 14 he had a sexual relationship for 5 years with the wife of an elder in his congo.. he was at 19 dfed for an affair he had with a fellow student.. he never told any one about the affair with the married sister, but now 10 years later, this sister and her unsufferable husband are planning to become assistant co. .
my mother - law, who is still in the"lie" now knows about this affair and has made the statement that she has probable asked for forgiveness in her heart therefore the elders do not need to know of the affair.. my brother - law is going through his own issues and because of the way he has been treated ie.. shunned, basically disowned by most of his family, he wants to expose her and her husband who he believes knew about the affair.. i've recommended that he discuss this with his therapist and that he should think about why he feels the need to expose her now.
by the way this sister is 2 year younger than his mom.
IT... you win!
At 14 it is definetly abuse... even if he was "consenting" it is easy to influence a 14 year old... especially when you are 1) a woman 2) an elder's wife...
Besides, who says he is the only victim maybe there are others that are suffering the consequences of her actions too...
when it comes to your husband or wife, yes, wives look and track too.
woman do look at other men and other woman too.
so when it comes to both, how much looking and or tracking is too much for you to take?.
I assume we are talking about "checking out" ??
If so, Daniel and I are pretty open about it... he can drool if I can!
In fact, usually if he is "looking" or "tracking" he points it out to me so I can look to!
how far would you drive or fly to go to an apostofest?
or how far have you driven to get to one?.
i plan on going to the one in wisconsin in july........just 2400 miles round trip....... they better have cold canadian beer..... .
I think you all should come up to montreal...
We have better beer... plus it is warm now!
(montreal has some of the best strip joints in the world!!)
my sister is planning on getting married within the next few months.her jw husband committed adultery and left her when their son was 7 weeks old.after getting a scriptural divorce she began a friendship with a "worldly" man and now this friendship has grown to a soon-to-be marriage.
this man studied with the jw's for a while but could see right through them found too many of their teachings didn't make sense so he stopped studying.he's made his stand with my sister and told her she can still attend meetings if she wants to.he's also a good worker and seems to really love the kids.he's not perfect but no worse than many jw husbands.
anyways, the elders pulled my dad aside on tuesday night and told him he could(could????!@#*?
Luke 12:51-53:
"Do you imagine I came to give peace on the earth? No, indeed, I tell you but rather division. For from now on there will be five in one house divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother...."
.
the journey being life, what have you discovered that you never expected to... could be a musician, actor, a movie, a type of food, a thought, a realisation, a religion, a thing about your personality or an emotion, a particular song... it could be anything really.... what have you discovered?
Living for today is better than dreading tomorrow.
Love endures ALL THINGS.... (not just the things within the rules of the WTS)
There is more than one "true god"... as there is more than one religion and more than one way of thinking.
Not all questions need or have answers.
The world is sooo much bigger than I thought it was!
i have already posted bits and bobs about my "story"... i like the companionship i have found here and i feel it about time i get this off my chest, so here it goes.
i am a 20 year old montrealer (it is me above!
) who was brought up a witness from the day i was born.
I have lost my real mom as a friend, but there is always a silver lining...
Daniel's mom has been sooo supportive and wonderful. She has really taken me under her wing.. I talk to her more than Daniel does!!
She has become my "hiding place from the wind and a place of concealment from the rainstorm, like streams of water in a waterless country, like the shadow of a heavy crag in an exhausted land" (Isaiah 32:2)
.
it may happen in georgia
.
If I was still as zealous as I was when I got baptized... for sure! What is money compared to the wonderful priviledge of preaching the good news of the kingdom?!
(personally, I only mentioned the donation thing if I left a book... for mags, i would just give myself.)
They tried passing a law like that here in Blainville, QC... they lost!
