Any "Miraculous" experience happen to you like the ones said at Conventions

i had to sit through those experiences at the convention, i was wondering, did any of you used to be one of those people on stage giving an experience about how something miraculously happened like getting the exact amount of money you needed to pay your rent on the day it was due?

i always hear the stories, but can anybody actually tell me something like this has happened to them when they were a good little witness?

and if it has, did these sort of "events" stop taking place after you left?

Well I have experienced god's blessings.

God has helped me. He has helped me over come my depression

I had a time when I was Suicidal and extremely depressed, my life was really going downhill, when I recieved confirmation in grade six the Holy spirit gave me the strengh to come to realise that i have a relationship with god, soon after the confirmation i started to pray and since then my life has been getting better.

One day something nudged me and made me go to the school counsellor, the counsellor was amazed of my courage to come talk to her and couldn't understand why i volentarely came up to her.

I wrote a poem expressing my emotions and it helped the counsellor to understand my circumstance so I was lead to a professional counsellor I became aware of my depression (at the time I was very depressed but wasn't aware that I was suffering from depression)

With his help I also was able to make true friends who i am still with today! I am growing stronger day by day!

at the end of year 7 I started to look around on the net to learn more about god, (for at the time I didn't know a great deal about him)

God was there with me all the time through out my times of struggle, I see him everywhere

Now I have a good relationship with him and have interest in religon.

So here I am as a non-witness Just a catholic

Australia convention dates??

does anyone have a listen of convention dates for australia?

don't be concerned fellow friends i'm not considering going back to the vommit;) it's just that i couldn't afford to go to the commedy festival this year, poor student and all that, and thought i could do with a good cheap laugh:) seriously though, i'd love a list of dates if anyone could provide one.

Hi Frog I have been to melbourne a couple of times recently and I've noticed a Jehovah's Witness convention advertised,

Its on the 23rd and the 24th of August I think But I can't remember which arena/dome/stadium its at I know its called ________ Arena

Maybe check in Melbourne if you have a chance its a huge banna can't miss it although the advertising is a bit dull, there ae all these banners advertising stuff and the jw advertisement would be the most original.. oh well can't complain Look out for an orange banner with black writing.

a test of friendship

friends will use friends for their certain goals, but there are some out there who are true friends.

now this may seem "stalinish" but i'm just wondering if one of my friends is using me for their one goal.

here is my test: one day out of the blue, call them up and ask them if they want to see a movie or something that involves hanging out with me, nothing to do with hanging out with their bf/gf or other friends.

I Know how it feels to have friends who are not true friends.

I used to have friends who always did things behind my back, bullied me, left me alone when in need of their help, never even knew I was missing, Treated me unfairly, always talked behind my back, blamed me for everything that went wong, made plans to get rid of me eg. play hide and seek but they all had a plan where to meet up and hang out while I spent the whole of lunch hiding thinking that I am playing hide and seek with them.

Oviously they were not my true friends but they were all I had at the timw for I was only in primary school and there were not much people. Now I have true friends that include me find me important always notice me was there for me, cared about how I felt and more importantly I feel that I can trust them and be myself around them, I never felt that way with my old friends.

So do you have that special connection with your friends? do they like you for who you trully are?

If your friend bullys you and does not like you for who you are then really they are not your friend.

i gave blood as planned yesterday, and it weren't all that bad!

anyone who says it doesnt hurt and feel uncomfortable is telling fibs though!

all that passes relatively quickly, and it's all over within 20minutes at the most.

The watchtower is smarter than I thought! they made a good point there "we cannot hold on to any of the teachings or customs of false religion. We must get out of false religion and not support it in any way."

I just wish the watchtower would stop talking about themselves!

Catholicism

i went to a catholic church this weekend with my boyfriend.

he was raised catholic and was thinking about going back to church, but after the service decided that his belief system was now too different for him to attend services anymore.

as for myself, it stirred an unexpected reaction in me.

They ruled by guilt and fear - after all, if you leave how do you get your sins forgiven? We were never encouraged to read or study the Bible, teachings were to be accepted without question, no salvation outside the church (I think the official stand has changed on that now - but at ground level? not really).
I always had the sense that people were watching and whispering about what others did. If someone left, as I eventually did, they wouldn't miss you - you're just an insignificant part in a massive money making machine - oh if you had money they LOVED you!! (if not, tough). It took me over 10 years to fight through the guilt and finally leave - and now some of my family hate me for leaving - the bloody hypocrites aren't even 'practising' Catholics!!!

I read the bible, catholics do encourage it, nothing wrong with reading the bible.

lol about the money just put an empty envolope in the colelction plate, works like a charm

As a catholic I don't think salvation is found only in the catholic church, all is needed is to accept jesus as your saviour and believe that he died your your sins and to love god.

The church is there just to help people grow stronger in christ and to have christian fellowship.

I can understand the 'wierd' feeling with the church, catholics do understand that, its a stage new converts or people unfamiliar with the faith goes through, it would jsut be like visiting a different country, the environment is different, and you feel like a stranger.

Have you thought of getting a Priest over to your house or something?

My friend has a similar problem but not as bad, her brother died at a young age and he sometimes hangs around her house, One time he pushed my friends older sister into the wall. But he generally likes to play with the doorbell.

If you want to help this soul, be nice to it, it oviously means no harm and pray for it, its probebly a lost soul in limbo/purgatory
