it that time of the year, for me anyway, that i start to look back on the the past year's events, where i've been and where i'm going.
its certainly been both the best and also the most difficult year of my life so far.
definitely a turning point.. i can't say i've had any regrets this year.

for example, as of about 1986, college is now ok, but i think it is supposed to be limited to degrees and subjects that are directly job related.
what are the written and unwritten rules on this subject?.

This is the first US election I have not voted in since I turned 21 about 780 years ago! Being over seas and not able to access the information I felt I needed to make an intelligent choice, I let the money gods of the election chose for me. Actually I had hoped that McCain and Bradley would have been the successful candidates so that no matter who won, there would be some fresh ideas and a chance for election reform. Since Howdy Doody and Pinochio were the eventual choices, I saw no need to decide between two bad choices.

I noted that you made the typical reference by inference that the JWs are the only religious organization that is coming close to or is doing God's will. That would infer that you have in fact, investigated each religion closely and that you know what His will is.
Could you verify this? Have you indeed, walked a mile in the shoes of every religion? Is it possible that God's will is confined to only that adumbrated by the Watchtower?

I don't mean to be offering to hold your coats while you'all fight but your "discussion" gave me pause to reflect. It seems to me there are sufficient scriptures to support both sides of the trinity question all in the same holy writ. How could it be then that the same God and His supposed inspired apostles could promulgate such a contradiction? Is it not possible to reconcile the scriptures to one logical and reasonable explanation? And just how important is the issue anyway?
It seems in times past peoples lives were lost for simply being on the wrong side of this issue? When will reasonable people understand that other reasonable people can disagree?
Maybe we should look outside the original Holy Writ for what others have to say on the issue...

this is in response to a question asked by martini on the thread reflections, page 4. for those who have not read it, the question is: is it true that the israelites were historically jehovah's chosen people...the israelites make the wts with all it's "warts" look like saints... or are we to deduce from this that jehovah is the kind of god that could accept and work with such wayward people today as he did in the past?
my response was, in a nutshell: yes, the israelites were gods chosen people.

Yep, I'm coming west. Probably this time next week. Looks like i will touch and go through Atlanta on the way to Seattle. Return flight is tougher, will be close to xmas so seat selection is a little dicy.
Looks like I probably will be abandoning my cave here in the desert and take up a float house in the evergreen state. things are coming to an end here so I have to return to the world of the employed..
