Theocratic Party
by Aleman intoday we have political parties from the republic and democratic sides trying to get your vote so they can get the presidency.
but, can you really trust them?
how secure are you to have a man or woman lead us to a secure and peaceful future?

Our congregation's numbers are down. Yippie-kay-yay!
by outofthebox inso, we had the co visit and he told us what undeserving we are.
compared with his last visit, all our numbers are down: less publishers, less hours, less studies, less magazines, less meeting attendance, less baptisms.
then he proceeded to show us how a simple kid and a grandma that can't even read or write do more than us.

Some questions that I didnt find the answer as a JW Part 1
by tooktheredpill inhaving been raised in the truth, i thought that i had all the answers in the watchtower publications.
but as i started really reading the bible without filters, a lot of stuff started to appear that made no sense to me.
1) genesis 2:2: and by the seventh day god came to the completion of his work that he had made, and he proceeded to rest on the seventh day from all his work that he had made.. .

Could You Live Without God?
by serotonin_wraith ini have said before in past posts - i think a belief in a god is because of two bad reasons.. 1. ignorance (not always deliberate at all) of certain facts.
the universe and life on earth was not designed.. 2. wanting to believe in a god.. so, to focus on the second, i can see why people would want there to be a god.. you see dead loved ones again, you live forever, you have a purpose set out for you, you feel there's always a being with you through even your most difficult times.
for those who believe in a god, could you live without one?

If one believes in God, it seems impossible to "live without" since that would then be denying its existance. So the question is really, have you denyed the existance of God (in what ever term you describe it) and how are you coping with the consequences of your belief?
I don't believe in the god that most of you describe and are in disdain of, but to capture and describe an "unknowable essence" is beyond my capacity. I can deal with the concept of His existance, once I shuck all the silly OT and human encrusted defininitions thereof.

IMPORTANT: Elders Mtg at Patterson
by confusa ina witness just informed me about a couple that we know who had their assembly recently, and it was announced at the private elder's meeting that there will be a special meeting with all the elders in the us in patterson.
it was mentioned that we are now living "in the end of end of times" and that the un is talking about prohibiting religions.
has anyone heard of this??

Ha! The UN can't muster up a peace keeping force even when the Security Council is unanimous in agreement. Can you imagine what it would take to inforce a ban on religions in even one Islamic country, or Bhuddism in India let alone the Vatican and its vast minions.? It doesn't surprise me that the r&f jdubs fall for that stuff over and over again.
