Fairy tales - unsuspected effects on children?
by Spectrum ina couple of years ago there was an article on tv discussing the possible negative effects that that fairy tales can have on children especially girls.
i don't remember it very well but basically they were saying that fairy tales, especially the ones that involve beautiful girls or princesses, put unnecessary pressure on little girls from a very young age to have to look pretty if they are going to get their prince charming or do well in general in real life.
it makes sense because it seems to fall under the category of conditioning and it's easy to condition children.

This reminds me of a news article that run on the local new about a field trip to a local ranch and the rancher let the childern pet and hug the calves and baby pigs. After the field trip the news man asked the kids who many what to go too McDonalds on the way home he asked for a show of hands, the kids got so excited they were jumping up and down all had their hands up in the air. Yet I'll bet you they would of been traumatized if you reminded them what they were eating. NOPE because the news man told youknow that the animals yuo just seen are going to big lunch some day then asked how many now what to go. All raised their hands and jumped up and down.
Put things into persective everytime I do something someone could be traumatized by my actions.

Good to have you here. To understand the Witness thinking you must remember they think you are dirt that will soon be swept away. If You ask them questions about blood the average Witness will stop and think, does he really want know or is he trying to find fualt. If he feels you are trying to find fault he will leave.
To be truthfull John 15:13 will get you no where. Because the Witness see's dying by not taking blood as giving his life for another. They see the death as an exsample for other Witnesses follow thus fullfilling the scripture. So I would not use this scripture. First you must make it apear that you need to know the reason for their stand on blood is because it stops you from understanding them then they well talk with you. After you have touched up on the bible and blood call the nearest Kindom Hall of JW's usually it is in your phone book. I happen to have every good scriptures you can use.
JW's think any missuse of blood is the same as taking a transfusion. For exsample they are not to eat any food product that contains blood, blood fertilizers are out; paint that uses blood out, they cannot donate blood, or work for the blood bank. They use the scriptures like Lev. 17: 13-14 Here it says anyone eating an un-bled animals "will be cut off " BUT they do not read on too include Lev 17 As for any soul that eats a body [already] dead or something torn by a wild beast, whether a native or a alien resident, he must in that case wash his garments and bathe in water and be unclean until evening; and he must be clean.” They like Deut 14: 21 “You must not eat any body [already] dead” BUT never read Leviticus 11:39-40 read “Now in case any beast that is YOURS for food should die, he who touches its dead body will be unclean until the evening. And he who eats any of its dead body will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening; and he who carries off its dead body will wash his garments, and he must be unclean until the evening”. These are the scriptures that I would use. The average Witness is stunned when they read these scriptures. The Watchtower never uses these scriptures becuase they know the scriptures will make the average Witness stop and think. Believe me even when a Witness can see you might be right on something will never let you know unless he is penned down with no way to weasle out of it.
I will send you a PM in your in box with information I researched that does work with Witnesses. It is very long but after you read it you will see the bible does not agree with the blood policy and you can actually stumble the Witnesses with the information. I have shown this to Five Elders all agreed after going over the information for a while with me that I am correct. One Elders has quit and has not went back to the meetings for over four years now, One Elder put his head between his legs and cried. One Elder has almost quit going to the meetings and his wife called and told me to never talk to her husband again. Since this information has hit my area so hard two Circuit Overseer's (BIG BOY"S FROM BETHEL) came to my house and before they left both agreed the bible does not teach the no blood policy. They would love to DF me but I only used the bible and the Society's publications to make my point. Beside to DF me because of blood after proving so faithful would have huge implications in the local area so they leave me alone.

most all bible scholars have no problem with this, what is of interest to me is a matter of controversy the translation of didymos used before his name in the greek manuscripts didymos literally translates into english as twin.
if you take the bible as the true gospel of gods hand then jesus had a twin brother.

If Jesus of the bible is true he also had to be married. Why would I say that, because he was a Rabi don't say it just means teacher as the society says for a answer. The jewish leaders called him Rabi they never would of called him by that Tittle if he was not an offical RABI that went to the schools of higher education. To be a Rabi a Isrealite must be married. Period, end of discussion, he was married if the Jesus of the bible is correct. Jew's at age twelve was betroved a wife, Jesus was of Royal blood and was in line to be King if the Romans departed do think for one moment this futher leader of the Jew did not get a wife betroved to him.

I had the same questions as you Leolaia. The scholar that lives here had nothing at all to do with Bushby nor does he know him. I questioned him and asked why I can't I find a Google search on alot of this? He said try to find a Google search about the cross that quotes Catholic books and then gives the whole book to you on a download, Then imagine the chruch not wanting you to know what the book say's. You never find it an Google only by buying the book or going to the source. He said the sources of Bushby and his sources are quotes from can't just find and then copied by every Tom, Dick and Hairy. So the man showed me his personal copies. He copied whole books and then had them hard binded So if you want to proove Bushby wrong you need to go and look at Bushby's refferences and not use GOOGLE searches. He showed me copies of old texts saying what The Book by Bushby of prooving The man showed me records from the Utah lybrary that shock the world that I know.. He says with out a doubt that Bushby is correct. Bushby's thinking has come from bushby life long study into the bible. That is my point they should just quit trying to bring science into the debate to look intelligent because science prove the creationist wrong. That is what boils me over when they are penned down they say anything is possible for GOD. So they need to leave logical science out and just keep the magic. Senseless death is getting to me
by AlmostAtheist ini'm finding that i'm less and less able to handle hearing about or even thinking about senseless death.
i read about some of the people tortured and killed as heretics during the inquisition and i was nearly in tears.
then i just read a news report about a pakistani man that killed his own daughters while his wife watched, in order to preserve his family's "honor".. theists can at least imagine these people in heaven, or sleeping awaiting a resurrection.

You are correct the only problem is in places the Granite Rock make up most of the local landscape and the creationist must have an answer for these areas as well. Plus like I have mentioned if this is proof then we should have dozens of Grand Canyons all over the earth and we don't that is unless the great flood was on the western side of the U.S.A.
