  i put this on "friends" cos i think you are!

  mr c(crumpet) has gone away on holiday until sunday at 5. i am all alone and with 8.00 to last me the whole time from now until then.

  i think i am going to feel lonely - in fact i am already - so this is an open thread.

  i'll have to make this brief because it's getting late.. i've had my first batch of chemotherapy and thus far everything feels fine!

  thank you so much for all the cards (and some presents, too!!!).

  forgive me for not thanking all of you individually but i have received a good number.

  tik you are exactly like my dad and brother they want plain everything! i love spicy things think i did it to bug them and now ill have pepper sauce on anything,

  you cant beat batcholors bacon flavoured super noodles and bacon cooked in the microwave in its own fat ummmm ummmmm

  one of the surprizing - and humbling - aspects of life that keeps things interesting is the fact that simple stuff can be overlooked.

  in the rat race of life.

  such has been my experience with meditation.. i attended a class run by a guy who got trained in tibet.

  i just got a book out of the libary about having a physic side and that talks about mediation

  think i will try it i have also just bid on a oojee board on ebay as i am really interested in that kind of stuff, coz i feel it will help me have the strength to never go back to the religon!

  maybe im mad but its wierd after a lifetime of preaching as a jw i actually dont believe theres ANYTHING out there and if there is id like to meet it!!

  Ever go to a meeting DRUNK?

  a few years ago i was living with a buddy of mine here in downtown calgary.

  we were both inactive dubs but still half - assed on the fence.

  one night i came home from work and there was a slew of beer bottles all over the living room, and my buddy slouching on the couch in his suit and tie, beer in hand.

  doesnt the bible tell us to 'drink a little wine?' i cant disobey now can i?

  actully was a few sheets to the wind in my judical hence my dont give a stuff attitude that got me dfed! i did sober up when they told me their decision tho! (they spoil all the fun dont they??

  youre right its the jws that actually put it into everyones minds that u cant be just friends, i got stopped from pioneering several times with different brothers there was nothing in our realetionships just the elders sick minds,

  id love to have some guys as just friends but its never really happened that way, dont know why.

  An End To Shunning

  well, in my case anyway.

  for those of you that may recall my posts about my family and that after i left the wts, how i wrote long (and painful) letters to my nonjw children among others.

  i had tried to explain why i had shunned them and how very sorry i was, and for all the mistakes i had made throughout their childhoods as a jw mother.

  thanks for posting it it has made me more determined to stick to what i know i should do even with the pain of losing my family, you have shown that sometimes it does get better,

  Convention Drama, an example of Anachronistic Propaganda

  the recent 2005 "godly obedience" convention drama is an example of an anachronism!

  and of propaganda!.

  so why is the dram an example of anachronistic propaganda?.

  dont think many jws will see thru it, my mum apparently doesnt, i told her i was going to enroll my 3 year old daughter for 1 and half hours a day at play group, and she was so shocked her words were 'how can u even consider that? did you not see the timothy drama jehovah doesnt approve of schooling that isnt necessary!'

  when the dubs apply it to before and after school u gota start worring!!
