  Poll: When my PIMI wife comes back from meeting. she is a different person. how many out there experience the same and why?

  so i am trying to understand if i am the only pomo that experiences the situation where the pimi spouse comes back from a meeting a different personanlity.

  it may not be obivious to the untrained eye, but i notice it and i know my sons notice it.

  this last round after all the loyalty bs and armagedon bs it's like she has stayed stuck in it.

  Yes!!!!!

  You can't bother pointing it out to them because they will say something stupid like, "well, if I'm being brainwashed everybody should be" or something as ridiculous. They see it as a good thing.

  After a convention? it can take anywhere from a few days or weeks to wear off. Guess it depends on the convention, their personal feelings of dubiness at the moment or state of the world. That is my opinion.

  When mine first joined up his eyes actually glazed over like you might see in the movies, scared the crap out of me. My jw changed so much after meetings the kids noticed as well. Now it is not as much if at all on a regular basis. Maybe he got better at snapping between worlds? his jw life and then home to non jw wife & family.

  From a purely psychological point of few it can be an interesting study. Just wish I was looking in at will not having to live it.

  Don Adams has passed away

  i received a call from a friend in new york city that don adams passed away late last evening (30 dec 2019).

  many of you bethelites know him and he was the president of the society for a number of years after the gb got out of the corporate structure business.

  from what i understand, he was generally liked by many there.. some in my family knew him.

  "They are the group of Christians..."- only in their own minds. Nobody I know considers them 'Christian'.

  "...His will.."- you mean like hiding pedophiles? breaking up families and not allowing natural affection? making requirements on dress, make up, hair cuts, etc...? Those things do make them 'unique' as far as religious folks go. Most religions claim love, family, helping widows and orphans, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, etc...

  Hey - Cognac here... Dealing with Custody Case

  had to create a new account cause i couldn’t login to my old one.. anyways, my ex- a male jw was trying to go for full physical custody of our kids.

  he had his wife call dcf but of course i won.

  he had no leg to stand on.. so, we need to go back to court in february.

  Should't they cancel their meeting tonight?

  i find it kind of amusing that as worldly people who pass by a kh and know nothing of jw's tonight will think that the jw's are having a christmas eve service.

  many churches have a number of services tonight; children's program, family/christmas eve service and maybe a midnight candlelight service.. you know how some jw's won't even wear red between nov & dec lest anybody think they are celebrating the holidays?

  well then, shouldn't they cancel tonight's meeting so nobody thinks they are doing their own christmas eve service?

  hi i haven't posted for a while but i have a question and would appreciate any advice offered.

  i left the cult 2 years ago and i'm so happy now.

  i struggled at first and with the help of the lovely men and women on here i got stronger and started to find myself and ive grown as a person (i'm not being told who i am or who i should be anymore).

  Learn how to teach a child critical thinking skills.

  Do holidays! be the fun parent with birthday parties, Christmas, Easter, after school sports, band, arts, etc....

  Visit various faiths to learn about world religions and to let your ex know in no uncertain terms that you will be teaching the child all about other faiths.

  Teach the child it is more than ok to be an individual with their own thoughts, beliefs, likes and dislikes.

  Teach the child to question everything even if it comes from you, dad, grandparents, teachers and especially religious authorities. When it is age appropriate teach them about cults.

  Bring the child to a fun Sunday school! they do arts, crafts, dance, plays and so forth and still learn basic Bible stories. Quite a difference from a kh from what I hear.

  Do all you can to protect your child's well being. Protect them from spiritual abuse, physical & sexual abuse, mental and emotional abuse. Be the mother bear and protect your child.
