  It's especially funny because I'm finally, fully immersed in the holiday spirit this year, thanks to my new g/f.
  
  I have my first xmas tree as an adult, which sometimes makes me tear up when I think of all the joy I missed out on by not just living my life.

  Trouble For Richie

  as many of you know, i have a myspace.com account.. apparently, while i was out last night, someone called my mother and informed her of my activities on myspace.

  my mother called and asked me for my login info, and was shocked to see me, and around 40 witnesses in my area having active profiles.

  contents of these profile ranged from a few pictures to downright self-incrimination.

  But I have Clearwire and it is available in NC,
  
  Basically it is wireless internet you access by plugging in a wireless router into your power outlet and then into your computer and you're done.
  
  And you can take it with you anywhere they have service, like I pack up my iBook and my router and cords and go over to my mom's and let her look up stuff she sees on TV.
  
  And it's pretty fast. For me. But I'm an old duffer.

  just want to know if it is normal practice for the elder giving your wedding talk to ask you and your partner if youve had sex, about 1 week before youre due to get married?.

  happened to us, and we were f'in shocked!.

  We were asked and we lied.
  
  Years later I had an attack of the guilts and admitted it to an elder. We were out of the state we were married in, had been married for two years and had an infant son. it was dismissed by the elder as water under the bridge... I had gotten all worked up over nothing.

  Mention of Jehovah's Witnesses in popular entertainment

  i don't know if this thread has been done before, but can anybody think of times that jehovah's witnesses were made mention of or joked about in music, tv, or movies?

  for example,there are a couple of simpsons episodes, one were marge alludes to being so desperate for company that jehovah's witnesses ran away when she went to get them more lemonade.

  another time, two jw's approach the simpsons' house and one turns to the other just before ringing the doorbell and asks "ruby, do you ever think we should get real jobs?".

  I only saw this in passing... Didn't buy the book.
  
  There was a storyline in a Punisher comic a few years back where Frank Castle used an elder as an informant. Maybe he even posed as a Dub before blowing away the bad guys. I thought it was funny because the artist put a big ol' cross on the KH.

  JWS and Body Piercings!

  this may sound strange, but do jws have any specific teachings on body piercings?

  i know that mormons do... they only allow females to have one piercing in each ear and then they must wear "tasteful, modest earrings"... in other words, i don't think they're wearing big hoops or dangling chandalier earrings... but what do jws think about piercings?

  my boyfriend's sister got her eyebrow pierced... and her "jw" parents encouraged it.

  I was once told that beards weren't allowed because of Fidel Castro. As neutral christians we didn't want to affliliate ourselves with communism by imitating his style.
  
  I [as a teenager] asked why we would wear suits and have short hair as it was a style used by American politicians... no answer, I was told to stop being smart.
  
  There were several BOE that would have been shocked to see their golden boys, their precious mic handlers in their skivvies. I knew lots of young guys who got tats and piercings during their vacations on concealable locations.

  That article makes it appear all tattoo and piercing shops are dirty, backwater, lowlife-infested dens of sin.
  Geez.
  My piercer is a profeesional woman who is anal retentive about her craft and the cleanliness of her shop.
  
  And the reaction to my piercings? Not ann "eww" from anyone. In fact, people thought I had always had my earring.

  Yep, you found the site, I didn't want to post it in case that wasn't the right thing to do. Some boards are pretty strict about outside commercial links and stuff.
  
  My question remains purely speculative for now. I don't want to give the dubs any reason to seek me out and find out what I've been doing with my life since I faded so gracefully.
