I find this JW behaviour disrespectful

on saturday i was at a cousin's wedding.

neither bride or groom was jw, although her mother (my aunt) was jw but was df'd for smoking way back in the early '70's and i doubt the bride (my cousin) remembers anything anymore.. her older brother said a prayer before the dinner.

it was a very beautiful prayer imho, and maybe he remembers a bit more of the jw experience, it started and ended like what you'd hear in a kh, but the middle was actually said from the heart and filled with love for the new couple and our family and the friends present.. i bowed my head and said amen afterwards.

Back in my dubdays, it wasn't just that was I was not bowing my head, it was the attitude of superiority I carried during a non-dub prayer that was disrespectful. I didn't listen to the person praying, I thought about how this was a waste of time because god was refusing to listen to these words.

Closet Smokers????

is anyone out there a closet smoker?

you know-sneaking one here and there...... i smoked from the time i was in my late teens-tried to quit the odd time with no luck.

finally in january of 2005 with the help of zyban, i kicked the habit.....all was good.

I have one when out on a night of drinking, or used to before smoking in bars became a crime here in Washington state. I still enjoy a pipe on my porch from time to time but with such infrequency that I consider myself a non-smoker.

My 1st time in a KH

i went to my first kh 3 sundays ago and was quite suprised that they we'ren't pushy.

in fact, no one even spoke except the man in front who let me borrow his songbook.

i am a christian and always have been to church.

That sounds obsessive, controlling, and dangerous.
Typical male dub thinking.

Just so you know, whatever he's saying, it's just to keep you coming back and giving him more sex. If it weren't you it would be some other worldly chick because it is not about love it's about the kind of sex he isn't getting from his wife. If she isn't completely repressed by her upbringing, she is at least brainwashed to report anything outside of missionary intercourse to the BOE as uncleanness.

Worked in the morning through to the early afternoon. I saw The Breakup at the theater in the mall Saturday night. Went on an unsuccessful hunt for large, gooey cinnamon rolls on Sunday morning then took a drive north to Birch Bay and Blaine.

I didn't think to take my shades with me so the bright haze left me on the couch for the remainder of Sunday with an awful headache.

i love japanese cars, easy on gas too, and that's why i drive a corolla.

also it has 4 doors

I drive a 1984 Mercedes 190E.
It was cheap, it's peppy and pretty good on gas mileage.

But for short hops around town or relaxation I pedal my Trek 6700 Mt. bike.
