i just can't believe it!
after sending the elders a letter (see http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/91796/1.ashx) we get a letter from elder s. that he understands that families are busy, can't be reached for short notice meetings, yada yada yada.
so they are setting another meeting for june 12. .
Are you going to even bother to go? Ought to take them a stuffed Lamb!! They must just really want to meet with you. They probably think they can save you!! Don't forget to take you apostate literature, bring a beer and cigarette, & dress very inapproriately. I think they would probably like some silent lamb stickers on their mailbox. (We used to glue christmas cards to the door). I think about half way thru the meeting, you should just quite wasting your time, and get up and leave. Have the meeting on your terms.
But do what you want, you don't owe them anything. Personally, if I had it to do again, I wouldn't have wasted MY time and energy!

Growing up whoever was leading the little session usually made the assignments. For the ones that were the goody ones, they worked with the same ones all the time. Not good enough to be with the "troublemaker". My mom suffered with bad depression, so alot of times she'd pick a fight with dad and stay at home. That meant I had to take care of 3 sisters and a brother.
But, as far as the carpools, certain ones stayed together. Oh, and when I was in trouble I got stuck with a short, bald elder. (me and another girl taped the song "short people" to his front door!!)

an article in the professional journal obstetrics & gynecology (sep 2004) indicates that, if need arises, almost 10% of pregnant jws would agree to accept packed red blood cells while another 40% would consent to a variety of donated blood products.
health care proxy was available in her chart.
39.3% agreed to accept a variety of donated blood products,.
I think most of you might have read the thread where I told of one of my adventures working in ICU. I had a young child who had leukemia and had to have blood to live. The elders were there trying to look like they had some authority. One was trying to get the parents to take her from the hospital. They were acting like jackasses. I went to the dr. and told him what was going on and what to expect. Within 3 hours the legal departmen had guardianship of the child. And I had the priviledge of calling security to escort the elders out of the hospital!!! That was priceless!!! The mother later thanked me for taking the burden off of her. I've had several interesting run-ins with them over the years. What was funny was, they tried to have me not only removed from being the child's nurse, but wanted me suspended. My supervisor just laughed in their face!!

an elders wife told my wife today that yes there are young anointed people because they are replacements for those who have fallen away.
she also said that if an anointed should fall away and then get reinstated they are still anointed.
i can just picture jesus spending 6 months or so picking out a suitable replacement in disgust at the one he picked first time around fell away.
If someone who has been DF'd can be of the "anointed", the next time my mom gets on me about "going back to the KH" --I think I'll tell her I'm going to. I think I've had the calling!!
That should shut her up!! I think I'm special enough to partake of the wine and bread!!
I think I'd better get my tequilia out, I need a shot or 3 now. But I do believe I've found the magic way to at least shut her up some!!!

....because you got into trouble??
?
If I didn't get asked to meet with them in the back room at least once a week, I'd think they were mad at me. I was the one that made them work for their titles.
so the brother who was suppose to do sound had to read the watchtower that morning so i had to do it b/c no one else who knew how to showed up.
so there i was sitting through this boring talk that talked about entertaiment or something and i heard it all before so i started reading this watchtower that was laying on the sound system.
then brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping, and another brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping.
I used to always get tattled on --they couldn't wait to run to my parents. Usually it was for writing notes. Even during my short period of reinstatement they tried that running to tattle to my parents. I was told I had a bad attitude when I told them if they had a problem with me, they needed to come to me. Needless to say, I had to be "couseled" on my attitude. I didn't have a problem with it.....
(just thought i'd share....sent to me from a friend)
good afternoon!

what do you think is the most important...i remembered this illustration from a mid 80s wt...do you think this is a description of wts at this moment.
even when organizational responsibilities multiply, caring elders will never lose sight of the fact that they are dealing with peoplepeople whom god loves.
(1 peter 5:2, 3, 7; 1 john 4:8-10) they will never be so occupied with organizational matters or procedures that they forget their prime role as shepherds, guardians, and protectors of the flock.proverbs 3:3; 19:22; 21:21; isaiah 32:1, 2; jeremiah 23:3, 4.. an intense preoccupation with schedules and figures, for example, might crowd out concern for people.
Where I grew up at it was ALL about looks and rules!! If they couldn't find one that applied, they made something up. It was always about who had what. (possessions, titles, etc.) Who could get the dirt on someone first. Who would be the first to "counsel" someone. They had not a clue how to actually HELP someone. They helped by threats. By the time they were done, you wanted to committ suicide or homocide!!
here is an (old) thread on the blood issue that i found interesting!
i keep wondering how things are going along these issues now in 2005!.
scroll almost to the very bottom on this thread!
All I know is that in 2004 I had a JW child with luekemia who HAD to have blood to save her. Of course the elders were there trying to look like someone in authority. They gave the young couple a very hard time with all the "trust in Jehovah", "the Armegeddon will soon be here", "in Paradise she will be healed", ---and all the CRAP. They were threatened with JC proceedings and everything else they could throw at them. After speaking with the doctor, it took the legal department 3 hours for the hospital to get guardianship, and allow the blood.
I had the priviledgeof having the elders escorted out by security. Look on their face was priceless. Later the mother thanked me. Of course, the elders tried to get me and the doctor in trouble. But my supervisor wasn't about to take any shit from them. She had them trespassed from the hospital! It felt sssoooo good to have them put back in their place!!
