If there aren't 2 witnesses, this didn't really happen! I survived the "back room". (Not quite what I had in mind, something to that effect.)

Apostafest T Shirt Slogans.
by Englishman inthe first time that i met simon, he was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the word "apostate".
it was all spelt out in evil-type letters, in fact it looked suitably demonic.. when i encountered him at another 'fest, his t-shirt slogan simply read: "no!
i will not fix your computer!"..

Totally screwed up.
by betrayedbyall inhi, its been a few months since i last visited the forum and to be honest in that time my life has just continued to go downhill, does it ever get any easier guys, i have been so close to ending it all a few times and dont know how much longer i can take the anquish and pain which i feel every day !!!!!!!!.
i now have no job, no friends, and no desire to fight anymore, i sit here day after day just wanting to sleep so that the mental pain will go away and yet i want peace so much.. my old mum who turns 80 next month, and who has been a witness for 50 years, has been so hurt by the events that led to my dissasociation she has now stopped going to the kingdoom hall, but i can see how sad and confused she is and i feel i have caused her great hurt in her later years, she has a bad heart and looks so worn down, i am worried sick she may pass away in this condition and this is tearing me apart also.
you might remember i lost my job after 28 years after being bullied and putting in a claim of harrasment, i then started up my own business and 10 witnesses worked for me, the lies and deceit was beyond words and in the end i had to close most of the business down, after that it was only myself and a non witness friend who were working together.

Like evil force and all the others said, PICK UP THE PHONE! I know it sounds scarey, but you'll be glad you did. I refused to ask for help and these boards weren't around years ago. I remember getting to the point you described. Only I did attemt suicide, several times. God intervened each time. Being a nurse, I knew exactly how much to take of what. But someone always showed up in time to go to the hospital. I never called and told anyone. Someone would just show up.
But, get some proffessional mental health treatment. You don't have to wait until tomorrow.

Do you "now" look for more reasons to dislike or hate the JW's?
by free2beme ini have noticed from reading over this site and from having contact with former witnesses in my personal life, that a lot of time is consumed in the beginning of your exit from the witnesses, with finding further reasons to hate or dislike the jehovah's witnesses.
with this i was wondering, is this done to give yourself more reason not to return or is it an expression of your freedom to find out what you want without borders.
from a pure psychological stand-point, i am prone to wonder if it is a means of feeding an inner anger to bring one a faults sense of security, when they are challenged from within to decide if what they are really dealing with is correct thinking or a path that is truly wrong.

I've been consumed by anger and resentment for many years. I have forgiven my stepdad for what he did to me. But not forgotten. I am pissed because I felt like many years were wasted. I could easily play the "what if" game. But I learned not to do that. I am outraged at their handling of sexual abuse. Those in my congregation, including my mother, looked away. Then later had the nerve to accuse me (age 12-17) of trying to seduce my stepdad by "wearing shorts (long ones), wearing a swim suit (we had an indoor pool, & my swim suit was more than modest)".
I've been told my problem "isn't with Jehovah, but with a person". Excuse me, is there something wrong with this pic? Also told to "wait on Jehovah". Been waiting----------------------he's still a member in good standing with priviledges.
OK, sorry I got started on that.
oh-HAPPY DAD's day to all ya'll!!!

Were you an elitist?
by DevonMcBride inhow many of you felt superior as jw's because you had an elite level of knowledge that only the society could give you?
-
crazyblondeb
I was considered elite, actually "one of a kind". The kind the always got those "special invitations" to meet with the cream of society in the back room at the KH!==

I remember when my stepdad and other MSs and elders would pull that crap of putting their foot in the door. I would always wish a giant crack would open up and swallow them.
Wished they'd pull that crap here. I have a 9mm I haven't had the time to play with lately, And in TX i'd be well within my constitution rights to shoot now and ask later. Not that the answers would make any difference!

What do you feel when you see groups of Jehovah's Witnesses on the street?
by nicolaou inregret, anger frustration?
how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even yearning!.
it can be quite confusing at times.
-
crazyblondeb
I used to pity them. Used to get angry at all the time I wasted preaching and not being able to be a normal kid. Now, I just wait for them to knock on my door. But they don't.
Anyone ever thought of making small "An apostate lives here" stickers for the front door?

#7. Invited to the back room after meetings. (also received those invitations on evenings & afternoons when there were no meetings.)++=
My parents would also run to them every time I'd get in trouble at home. (talk to worldly people, flirt, lie, etc. things teenagers do.) The elders raised us kids- not the parents.
Plus, I'm the one that allowed the elders to sharpen their skills for meetings in the back room. Someone had to make them work hard for their titles!

Let's face it, elderettes, or any females are not allowed to think for themselves. That applies to any type of decision-no matter how anal or small it is. They didn't know how to react without being told what to do. It's all pretty pathetic to me. This is one of those...don't get me started!........threads!
