I absolutely agree with you, Zen. I meant to say that the Dubs don't use the pronunciation considered to be most proper.

splinter groups
by carla ini just received some stuff from macgregor ministries and in a booklet -how to identify a cult- there is a listing of cults.
i found it interesting that there a quite a number of splinter groups from jw's.
as usually jw's boast about 'unity' and husband is always going on about how 'they don't have all these other denominations'.

I've always believed that was the most hypocritical belief of the Dubs. They claim that it is of the utmost importance to use God's proper name, to distinguish him from all other gods, yet they won't use the proper pronunciation

Leolaia, I think Leia said she remembered her mother because she was adopted and was remembering her adoptive mother. She didn't realize that she was a Skywalker until Luke told her that she was his sister towards the end of ROTJ. Remember, her name was Leia Organa.

What's the most thought-provoking novel you've ever read?
by lucky ini'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.
even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

Englishman, I agree with Evil, and that might just be a first. But, when you buy the boxed set, make sure to get it on DVD or VHS, not Beta. DVDs are these little chrome disks that look like CDs. Do you know what CDs are? And VHS is like a magical cassette tape with moving pictures.

Hey tijkmo (or as I like to call you, Numbnuts), my first post was to tell Goodgirl the artist who sang the songs she liked, as well as to put my two cents in. Got it? Good. Next time, read a little more carefully.

What if either Adam or Eve had remained perfect?
by Sith ini've never heard this addressed before.
according to the wts, joe hoba didn't destroy adam and eve when they sinned, because that would have only proven his power...that he could destroy that which he created.
he allowed them to stay alive and multiply so that he could prove the rightness of his rule and to answer satan's criticism.

I think Adam made the same choice that any man would make. According to a recent thread, the WTBTS claims that Adam was on his own for 30 years before the creation of Eve. He went 30 years with no nookie. Then he got him some. Eve sinned and faced death. Adam faced a possible 30 more years without nookie, until Ol' Joe got around to getting him some more. Death, or 30 years without? Adam chose wisely

I know it's a fairy tale, but I would like to understand WTBTS reasoning on this. I don't get the logic (as if JW dogma is logical). If sin is passed down through women as well as men, how could Jesus be born without sin?
