  Promiscuous or sexually free?

  so i'm 37 and i've only been with one man, my ex-husband, in my entire life.

  i just started a new relationship with a wonderful man but i'm fighting the preprogramming that comes from being a dub for 35 years.

  how have other people overcome the inhibitions and issues that come from the ridiculously rigid sexual mindset of the wtbs?

  144,000 symbolism.

  ok. i have a question that was never answered for me when i was going to meetings.

  humorous answers are appreciated, but if anyone knows the real answer to this, i'd appreciate it, just so my curiousity will shut up.. the witnesses teach that the book of revelation is a book of symbols.

  that's how they determined that hell is symbolic of being dead forever and that hell literal doesn't really exist.

  What is interesting is they say the 144,000 number is literal, but the very next part about being from the 12 tribes of Israel is symbolic. The way I see it, either both are literal or both are symbolic. Either way you go, it does not jive with WT teaching.

  I was brought up in an atomsphere of "all religions are basically good and have the same goal" and when I began dating my ex-wife, I discovered she was a backslidden JW as she called it. After we were married she began attending meetings again with me in tow and I just did not do enough research at the time and ended up joining via baptism a year later. I feel like David Reed said on an audio tape regarding his JW experience, "I still look in the mirror each morning to examine the hole in my head where my brains leaked out."

  It has been either smoky or hazy here in Morgan Hill, Ca for the better part of three weeks. First it was the smoke from the fires around Gilroy, Watsonville and the Santa Cruz mountains. Now it's from the fires from up in the Napa area all the way to Sacramento. I heard on the radio that it's really helping the cigarette smoker save a lot of money because in order to get their fix, they just have to go outside and inhale.

  Welcome !!! I too was a Ministerial Servant for about 5 of the 10 years I was in the Org. The last 5 were hard because while the elders were giving me more and more responsibility, I was becoming more and more disallusioned as I realized the group I had dedicated my life to was not the one they claimed to be. There is no honorable way out of the Society. But 16 years later I am so thankful I got out when I did. I enjoy life and people more than I ever did when I was "in."

  the second pic is me in march of 2007 @ 193 lbs.i have lost 80 lbs since then and gained a neck.

  Thanks for the nice comments. I do feel much better and both physically and mentally! I knew I had to get in better shape before I turned 50 and I am not doing my best to keep it there. I have never had a six pack of abs, it's more of a case which is less than the previous keg.
