i know other people started threads on this, but you know me, mr. analyze this, analyze that , what do you guys feel personally thankful for in this time in your life ?
lots to be thankful for , to be sure.

I am very thankful for my two Great Daughters, I am so proud of them.
My Two beautiful Grandchildren, My Parents and Brother and Sister.
My Wonderful Hubby, who is the Love of MY life .
MY freedom from the JW law makers.
And last, but not least, I am Thankful for having a roof over my head and
food on the table..!!

a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.
this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.
in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.

in nigeria, a bus carrying mostly jehovah's witness women, collided with a large truck on a return trip from a wedding ceremony.
24 died; doctors at a hospital are trying to save 13 others.

My heart goes out to the children some may have had, their family members and friends, all whose lives have been changed dramatically. So sad

one rule our hall had was that families with young children should only sit in the rear of the hall.
if a baby got fussy, the attendant was to go to the mother and ask her to bring the child in the library or "backroom".. also, disfellowshipped persons were to sit in the back of the hall and if they talked to another df'd one in front of the congregation members, they were threatened with not being allowed to get reinstated and having a lack of humility.. did your elders make up certain rules in your hall?.
Same as others here...not sure about the "threatening" part tho.
It was strongly "Suggested" that Sister's not wear dark nail polish. Also, we were
not allowed to wear tennis shoes from the convention parking lot (walking thru areas where
horses were trained) to our seats to change into heels.... ugh. Said we looked tooooo

we were pretty well against organized religion of any sort.

i got 85% in my first assignment - arts and humanities and i enjoyed every minute of it.. the best part is that my jdub hubby and i have new enjoyable interests in common as we have found that we both like visitng art galleries and other leisure activities.. thank you all for helping me get here so quickly.
of course that isn't to say that everything is all plain sailing (far from it) but its nice to feel out of the woods!.

interesting question i think.. the society says we "search out deserving ones" and "those rightly disposed", those who have "the right heart condition" - did you ever feel this was you when you accepted the truth?
did you feel that jehovah thought you as a deserving one?.
I was in such a terrible state of shock when the witnesses swooped down on me... I would have agreed to anything that sounded half way peaceful.
My first hubby had just committed suicide...they kept talking about the "Resurrection" of -COURSE- it sounded good to me at the time... later after all was said and done, guess what...not so sure you will be seeing "HIM" again.
As for my personal heart condition... yeah, I was humble and searching... still feel I came into under the wrong circumstances tho.

did they try to be "good shepherds" or were they real assh@les?.
We only had 5 in our congragation...
2- were absolute Sweethearts, honest, humble and really tried.
1- was rather indifferent and seemed preoccupied with his own problems.
1- was young with very young children, worked 2 jobs and was just run ragged.
Lastly, ...the PO....He was and still is, a Total NightMare....!!!
