when i hit 19, and showed no signs of interest in finding a nice,suitable brother for a marriage mate, suddenly there started appearing a few "eligible" brothers from out of town at our sunday meetings.

even stranger, they seemed to be meeting up with my parernts and sitting with us.

stranger still, they had been invited back to our house for lunch!

I was the only girl in a small village, everyone else my age was a boy so, to the disgust of my mother, I spent all my time hanging out with worldly boys (although it was very innocent).

So she came up with a master plan of marrying me off to the congregation geek, started to invite him back after meetings and then telling me that his parents wouldn't approve of him playing football or whatever with worldly boys, so maybe we could go for a walk together instead, etc.

It went on for a long time, until he told me his plan, he was going to start a job working as a trainee decorator for another brother so he could save up enough for us to get married.

Being quite a little cow I came up with a plan to get him off my back, I went to a party one Saturday night, got my mate to give me a love bite which I showed off the next morning at the meeting, and it worked, he never came near me again.

i was at play group this morning when i overheared a conversation about jehovahs witnesses and i just thought i'd share it with you guys.. apparentely 2 jws called at the house of one of the women from playgroup yesterday and they asked her about her daughter, the lady told them her 1 year old daughter's father is turkish and that makes her muslim, the witness turned around and said "well, lets hope she doesn't grow up to be a suicide bomber"..

i ask becase i just keep reading lots of gripey posts (with good reason for sure, but i wanted to hear positive stuff no matter how mediocre or ordinary it might sound).. so tell me what was your highspot?

My little baby girl has been a bit poorly for a few days with stomach cramps, she was crying earlier and wouldn't take her feed, so I bought her some medicine (gripe water) and it worked a treat, it was so good seeing the relief on her face, she guzzled her bottle and went straight to sleep, definately the highlight of my day.

i finally decided to come out of hiding because i need help.

i post on another board that has nothing whatsoever to do with religion and i saw this post-.

DB, thats a cool analogy, though I imagine over something so trivial as a supermarket, most would do some investigating, its just a shame that over something so life consuming as JWs, most do not.

while jws can you recall having that artificial smile and sweet, smooth way of talking at the doors?

also did you participate in the deceitful love bombing of newly interested persons in your kingdom hall?

it was all part of the artificial charm meant to entice unsuspecting victims into the wts nets.

I still do the fake smile now when talking to someone I'm not close to, it annoys the hell out of me but its habit, they could be calling me all manor of insulting names and I'd still be there smiling.
