I can picture someone writing that, I wouldn't be mad if I were you, just quite frustrated and a little sad, maybe you could write a little reply, just saying you are sorry for the way he feels but the decision you have made is right for you and your family.

Mention of Jehovah's Witnesses in popular entertainment
by enderby ini don't know if this thread has been done before, but can anybody think of times that jehovah's witnesses were made mention of or joked about in music, tv, or movies?
for example,there are a couple of simpsons episodes, one were marge alludes to being so desperate for company that jehovah's witnesses ran away when she went to get them more lemonade.
another time, two jw's approach the simpsons' house and one turns to the other just before ringing the doorbell and asks "ruby, do you ever think we should get real jobs?".

There was a cartoon in the 80s called The Ratties, I was only about 9 at the time and they made fun of JWs, I didnt want to go to school the next day because I thought everyone would be laughing about it and at me.

Would you want plastic surgery?
by free2beme init is said that teens are now getting breast implants, tummy tucks and liposuction.
i remember when i was younger, we thought these type of surgeries were done by older woman wanting to stay young looking.
does not seem to be the case anymore and it is getting easier and easier to get done.

Making progress
by fullofdoubtnow ini have been away for just over a week, visiting my cousins in the south west, and got back yesterday.
i was so good to be back on the board, i had a lovely break, but missed you all.
the main reason i went was to get away from derby for a while, as the cong elders have been pressuring me regarding my decision to da, trying to get me to withdraw my letter and return to the fold.

Police caution woman for breastfeeding in public!
by nicolaou ini just watched the local bbc news and there was a story about a woman who'd fed her baby while sitting on a public bench.
she finished and was on her way when a police car drew up beside her and asked her to stop.
there had been a complaint.

If all the officer did was advise her that someone had made a complaint, why is she getting so arsey about it? Perhaps she should take up the issue with the person who made the complaint?
I haven't got a problem with breastfeeding and most right-minded people are the same. However, we live in a country where people complain about everything and it would appear that this woman has been a victim of such a narrow-minded soul.
Having said that, this woman has then gone on to prove she is no better than the original complainant, because she is complaining about the Police Officer doing exactly the right thing. -

I guess I'm quite embaressed by it, I feel like after telling someone I need to stress that I am normal and not about to push the bible on them.
I put my Xmas decorations up 2 weeks ago (yes I know its early), one of my neighbours passed me in the street and mentioned it and asked why, for some reason I told her it was because I missed out on xmas as a kid and now make the most of it but I think thats the only time I have voluntarily come straight out with it to someone I hardly know.
