Might want to try what i'm doing.
I'm going to switch congregations (giving them a few months notice).
Then i'm going to either fade in that congregation or switch again so they'll lose track of me, lol.
what if you get baptized as a minor?
does it really legally hold up?
or how about it if your baptism has basically felt like a fraud to you because you did it for the wrong reasons?

below is the text for the day notice the highlighted areas:.
text for thursday, april 20, 2006. .
thursday, april 20. here i have two daughters who have never had intercourse with a man.
What the WTBS says // What Witnesses See
May // Is
Probably // Will be
Could Possibily // Certainly
yesterday after school i had to go work on a project with friends.
mom said be home by 5, but there was a huge accident a mile from where i live, and i sat on the road for like 10 - 12 minutes, and was 5 minutes late getting home.
mom was there (didn't go to work- guess why) and she was pissed.
That sucks man.
You might want to get a PO box to get your things sent to instead.
I understand your situation though, I have no idea how my rent will act if i just up and left the organization.
www.roomates.com is a good site (was looking when i went through this situation).
Also, if you're going to college you might find some pretty cool people to bunk with.
growing up as a jw, we were never allowed to have holidays or birthday's etc..... never able to show my brothers affection on their special day killed me.
now every year, i sing "happy birthday" to my brothers nick and ben.
i call them on their birthday, if they pick up the phone i yell and tell them i am going to leave a voice mail message.
When i do leave i have a couple of traditions i plan on starting.
1) Send birthday gifts to my brother, ON his birthday. I never liked those underhanded gifts given to me two weeks after my birthday as if i didnt know what the gifts were for.
2) Going to buy one lottery ticket every friday night, just for the principle.
and
3) Try an Apostafest.
i have done a lot of reading of rand's fiction, and have been reading a lot about her philosophy over the past several months.
i attend a local study group on her philosophy, and my family and i often attend get togethers that a local objectivist group puts on once or twice a month.. i am interested in talking with other ex witnesses that enjoy her work, and may be interested in discussing her philosophy.
i won't call myself an objectivist just yet, because i still am studying the philosophy.
I was going to read Atlas Shrugged for an english class in high school but lost interest.
I remember a friend likening Ayn Rand and the people who read her stuff as having a cult mentality.
.
where in the scriptures do we find that a persons spirituality is judged by how many meetings, how many field service hours and comments one makes?
(this is practiced in the congregations in case you didnt know)
I dont have to not go to meetings to know how unspirtual i am/am becoming.
i always remember a point to the watchtower study, was that your comments should be about something that meant something to you or something you learned from the experience.
well, did anyone have a brother or sister in the congregation who did this .... "i would like to define the meaning to the most simplest word in this paragraph, to see if i can seem smart for knowing how to use a dictionary?".
... when i say simple word, i mean people defining "honor" or maybe something like "knowledge" or any other word a person with an education beyond the forth grade would know without the look-up.
"You may have went to college, you may have gone to school, but if you dont have Jehovah, you're an educated fool"
i am married to a christian who believes that anytime now true believers in christ will be raptured up to heaven; every time the news shows things going on in the middle east my husband gets all excited and talks about how he doesn't want to be left behind.
after being involved for years in the jdubs and having nightmares of armageddon and all that, i feel happy just living my day-to-day existence and not worrying about my 'afterlife'.. in fact, i could care less about the afterlife and whether i go to heaven or hell; partly because no one really knows what's going to happen to me when i die.
the only thing i care about in my life is being a good mom to my kids, nothing else matters to me besides enjoying each day i have here right now on this earth--enjoying time with friends and family, vacations to disneyland, visiting the ocean or the snow.. i feel annoyed when my spouse starts talking about his beliefs, because i just feel so ambivilent toward the future.
I agree, i hate it when i talk to JW's about the world right now and they give me some BS like "well its the last days" and look at me like i'm stupid for even bringing up the subject.
so with all the study articles discussing new light some have speculated that something is in the works.
blondie pointed out that in 1995 there were also "new light" articles leading up to the generation and the "sheep and the goats" changes.
there was some debate on whether the new light on the generation was first released at the convention or in the autumn watchtower.
thats true @ garbuss.
My brother keeps saying that the change will be allowing women to become elders, but that would leave me in a bind cause i dont want to leave and look like an Apostate AND a sexist, lol.

What if its like. Dissasocciated people wont be treated like disfellowshipped ones. Or better yet, a loss of the DF arrangement.
