We should outlaw anything that uses the driver's while operating a motor vehicle such as cell phones, make-up application, coffee, smoking etc. A fine of about US$200, or US$600 if they are involved in an accident (their fault or not), would be about right I reckon.
How much if you kill someone in that accident? How important aside from an emergency ( 911 related where you most likely would pull over anyway) is it to take or make a call while driving? Really can someone explain this to me?
Subject of banning children from cars? Might as well take away all family vacations and doctor's visits while your at it.
Makeup application-- Yes it's stupid.
Shaving with an electric razor-- Yes it's stupid.
I wonder if there are stats of the accidents which have gone up over the years since cells became popular. Perhaps if this were presented and one could see a trend then many would understand the need for such.
I honestly do not see the reason for phone use while driving a piece of deadly equiptment.

Inner peace at last!
by PriestessLizzie ini am passing this on to you because it has definitely worked for me...and as we start summer we all could use a little calm.. by following the simple advice i read in an article, i have finally found inner peace.
the article read:.
"the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started".

I know what you mean, a bottle of red and a couple of really good pain killers always does it for me.
I assumed that Lizzies post was a joke or sarcasm since it's under humor ? that coupled with the quote she posts. However another post in this thread where one advocates mixing narcotics or ?really good pain killers? and liquor together made me cringe.
How many people a year kill them by mistake doing the same is really scary. Both liquor and pain killers are respiratory depressants.
You mix the two you have a good chance of ending up dead or a vegetable.
Perhaps both are jokes, and I in getting older and having the father of one of my daughters best friends die the same way as Lehaa described has touched a nerve.
Maybe I?m just far too serious am taking exception to nothing whatsoever. But suggesting/advocating the mixing of things which could kill to those who may or may not know any better IMO is irresponsible.
Please remember teens (yeah teens are not supposed to drink?but we all know it happens) do post here and many emulate behavior they believe is ok because adults do it. Not to mention my daughter?s friend was an adult and he still accidentally killed himself doing the same.
Cassi, sorry to be preaching class.
Edit to add
There are several people on this thread who are concerned for her well being so I hope I am not over reacting and again I apologize for being preachy.

Call names all you like, there are MANY buildings which will not allow cell phones in them. The can can be activated to act as a cell phone. This caution was put out by Army bases when the game first started a few weeks ago, "Just assure you do not bring the Coke cans which you can play the game with into those buildings. You know it's only your security they are assuring. Why the media has made a big deal out of it I do not know but it Does not surprise me. Cassi

Neutrality....
by PriestessLizzie ini've been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided to join.
i left the "truth" about 7 years ago for reasons i am not ready to go into at this time- mainly because i dont have the time to explain them at the moment.
though i do not believe entirely what the witnesses teach, i am surprised to see such anger and hatred towards them.

Perhaps its your temperament. Some people are definitely more succeptible to group-think than others.
I tend to doubt this as I was beaten over the head with JW beliefs day in and day out since birth by a father and grandmother who believed because of this religion if they did not teach such to their chidren, they would die as well as my brother, sister and myself.
Jeeze I still cringe when looking at that picture of the little girl with her dolly going down into the crevice at armageddon in the Paradise Book. When I asked at the time why God would kill this child is was because her parents were evil-- they believed such. I was scared cowpattyless. Not only was I mentally abused but physcial as well. Many of my friends were as well-- all practiced by JW parents who did not want to dissapoint Jehovah.
Gosh Prop really you do not believe that children are not susceptable to mind control via religious fanatics? And if you wish to take out the physical beatings and only leave that of what was drilled into my head daily-- 5 meetings a week plus field service and bible studies-- I still see mind control.
What am I missing here?

Go Get Em COSBY!!!
by Flash incosby has harsh words for black community

I hope more black leaders will risk ridicule and speak up for the well-being of the black community. It's stuff that's hard to hear, I'm sure, but it's stuff that needs to be said.
I agree Bebu and I do not understand this unwritten rule that was posted of earlier. Why would anyone who felt they may better anyones quality of life, pink, purple or otherwise not wish to speak on such matters to assure they get their message out?

Cassiline just used a term that is a favorite of the "cult" bashsers. - "mind control".
Hi Proplog
Since Lizzies comment focused on the JWs I answered about the JWs. However if you wish, perhaps I should have said I believe that many religions use forms of mind control or are cultish as the JWs are to include Mormons and others.
This I say from experience Prop, if it were not for the fact that years after leaving the JWs I still have things I am fearful of because of their teachings and because I believe fear begets control of what one does for religion then this is mind control-- my comment still stands. Perhaps clarified or not for you.
"Minds are reactive"...
which is parlayed into control through fear by such groups as the JWs and others.
