  Why do JW's elders act like their failed predictions is no big deal?

  i must admit after being an ex-jws for over 15 years now i still get fustrated at jw's elders when they act so non-chalant about the watchtower's prediction failures.

  i was talking to a jw elder just the other day and he was trying to explain away that the society made errors in dates in the past but they are not "false prophets".

  i was not even calling them false prophets he was the one that brought up the term.

  well it's not the failed predictions of the elders but of the GB. The GB tells the elders that it is no big deal, so that is what they tell you again.

  very "interesting" reasoning about the false prophets and the law, this elder had. Most JW's do not call the organisation a real prophet, although they say it is gods channel etc (all things that a prophet shoud have, they say they have). That is why they need such strange excuses

  a combination of looks, good threads, intelligence, and wisdom also.

  Three Questions.... measure your healing.

  rate yourself as far as healing from the abuse of the organization.

  time is a great healer, so i believe those who can state many years out, will also state a high rate of healing has occured for them.how many years have you been out of the organization?on a scale of 1-10, ten being completely free of the pain, one being raw and still hurting with intensity, how much healing have you accomplished since leaving?related to number 2 - how much of your mind have you recaptured?

  how often do your decisions still bring watchtower theology into play when making them?.

  • How many years have you been out of the organization? Not official out yet. Maybe about 9 months know the truth behind the truth
  • On a scale of 1-10, ten being completely free of the pain, one being raw and still hurting with intensity, How much healing have you accomplished since leaving? 9.5 have no pain, had no pain.
  • Related to number 2 - how much of your mind have you recaptured? How often do your decisions still bring Watchtower theology into play when making them? 90%, I think I am free of all theology. Some of the moral values maybe have some left overs, but almost none I think. some moreal things are not that bad, and more common sense (like love your parents) so, would not call then left overs.

  are there any statistics on line, with number of witnesses, hours, batized etc, per year per country?.

  (so that i do not have to type all those numbers of all yearbooks).
