hi have a problem and am in need of help.
long story short my wife was one when we met, then she quit to be with me, now she has recently started to witnessing again.
and our marage has suffered extreamly because of it.
oh dear, you shouldnt ask questions!!!! wrong thing to do, just believe thats the only way.... sorry things are so tough on you at the mo, but as has already been said if you want to make things work you may have to stick around here and learn a bit to help you chip away at her beliefs.

when those of you were still jw's what was the first thing that began to open your eyes to the emptiness of jw church?

after having read crisis of conscience and reading many posts and posting a few topics myself asking why the anger as i didn't understand.
i feel a sense of sadness for so many that have been so cruelly treated because of manmade dogma about shunning.
as a youth i was taught that the society encompased the true love that jesus taught and now i see how men in power have mutated that love into selfish power.
i felt a bit angry after i read it but i just wanna get on with things now ive left. anger doesnt solve many problems.... it just eats at you. the 'truth' still has my dad and my brother so that bothers me but theres jack i can do about it at the moment...

well i havent been on here for ages, and blow me down with a feather if armageddon still hasnt arrived yet.... anyways just want to say hello to anyone who might remember me and hi to everyone who doesnt.. basically i was able to get on here while i was at work (didnt have 'tinternet at home) but then my job changed and i couldnt anymore.
but now ive caught up with the rest of ther 21st century here i am, on my pc at home.. so how you all keeping?
anything exiting happen while i was away?.

Thats ok DB. Well I used to go on mostly at work, but I'm not working there anymore, so my visiting this site is a bit more sporadic.

Thing is when you leave the JW's you still 'think' like a JW, and thats the toughest cycle to break. You might stop believing much of what they brainwash into you teach but ultimately you have to take a huge step backwards and try and look at things openly.
The real "truth" is what you believe at the time. Previously we all believed that what we 'learnt' came directly from God, so we never doubted it. In reality tho it was simply the FDS version. Now if we go looking for answers while out of the "truth" we will only see whats already there, that is, other people's opinions and research. I choose to believe whats right for me.
For example. Take God's name. Recently I've prayed to "God" and I've prayed to "Jehovah" and felt that he has answered on both occasions, so to me it simply doesnt matter, as long as what you are praying is hearltfelt. (thats my spin on it anyway). Now, unless someone comes along and blows that theory out of the water thats what I'm gonna believe.
At the end of the day if someone found the ultimate truth about everything, something beyond critisism dont you think everyone would know about it by now?

it's a simple solution.

i had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).
(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).
anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.
