In a way. I left on my own accord- I disassociated myself- but then felt pretty damn guilty about it for about 2 years until I found JWD and a few other ExJW sites

Specific TV, Film, Music or Computer Game references deemed inappropriate?
by veen ini was down the pub tonight and my sister said she went to see 'sex and the city' in the cinema.
i gave a lol and said the title of the film sounds just like something which would be specifically singled out at 'inappropriate for true christians' in a district assembly talk just because of it's title.. .
immediately everyone started having a go saying that what i said sounded like the criticisms of an apostate and if i went to assemblies or meetings or read the literature anymore i would know that they don't single out specific shows etc anymore.. .

Basic Instict.... my favourite outlandish claim that something was inappropriate- Comic Relief!! Also, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Renta-ghost, Paul Daniels... Oasis (didnt stop me), Street Fighter... the list goes on and on...

My theory about the behavior and obsession of some ex-JWs
by Simon ini've had this theory for some time and alluded to it occassionally but have never explored it in detail.. it is of course a huge generalisation so no, not everyone will fit into the boxes and i'd like people's opinion.
i don't know everyone's circumstances so it's based on a small sample of some of those i do know something about.
it could be completely wrong, it's just an idea.. basically, i have seen a difference between some of those ex-jws who walked out vs those who were kicked out.. the most bitter and obsessive seem to be the kicked out and, i must add, those who were legitimately kicked out.

I'm in agreement with Simon, it is a generalisation but to some 'Jehovah's Witnessdom' is still their life, despite not being part of the organisation.

The Dark Knight
by XJW4EVR inthere may be spoilers on this thread, so if you haven't seen it yet, don't read any further.. first, i enjoyed the movie.
i think that the reboot of batman was the best thing that could have been done to the franchise.
i love the fact that the last two films are dark, and that the batman literally skates the thin line between justice and criminality.

I honestly thought it was the best of the batman movies. Heath was outstanding and stole the show. I think this is partially to do with its success but then there are a lot of Batman fans out there, even the camper ones in the 90's were very successful. It was a long film but i loved every minute of it and the ending, while a little 'open' summed up Batmans entire life-quandry as to whether he should be doing what he is doing. The question and doubt he portrays a lot in the film defines him very much as a 'human' and without special powers, as you pointed out.

Name Things That Are Uniquely "Special" To Jehovah's Witnesses
by minimus injws have certain must haves.
for example a jw needs his or her own "bookbag".
an elder needs an "elder case", something very big, because after all, he's an elder!

Oh a pen, a really good reliable pen, for note taking. If you still live in the 1980's, you have to put it in the top pocket of your suit. So that people can see you have a good reliable pen. Also unless you are already an elder, a brown nose. You can have a brown nose and still be an elder, but only when the circuit overseer or district overseer is visiting.
