  New Ex-JW's: Smoking isn't worth it!

  it seems that many jw's take up smoking as soon as they leave the watchtower.

  the reason is obvious -- they weren't allowed to!

  lighting up is like giving the finger to the watchtower.

  who has been the select group throughout history?

  if jehovah has always had a group of people that were "his select group" to have his messages relayed, who were these people/relgions between the time of the early christians of bibilical times and the founding of the bible students?

  we've learned to frisk our cats before they come in, esp.

  at night.

  they have a thing for bringing home their live catches to play with.. also, when they get all smoochy.

  Sorry if this sounds awful but the worst thing a pet (a doggie) of mine did was die.

  It was so sad, and it was the tiny little things you miss. We used to throw little tid-bits of our dinner for her when she was alive and the sad thing is it meant a number of times forgetting she wasnt there anymore and just throwing food on the floor....

  Revelling in not believing

  i'd really love to see what people think, there might even be people who think the same thing.. as jw's we got every single little thing rammed down our throats right?

  so, we had set beliefs or answers for everything- does god exist?, are there aliens?

  Now you must work at staying free.

  This might sound odd but to me its like a warm blanket- like I say I'm revelling in it. Its such a good feeling not to have to explain yourself, provide evidence etc.

  after a year or so of being a "lurker" (since i know some of you despise that word, say, instead, window shopper?

  ), i finally signed up.

  for the last week or so, i've come to the sight every day and i've learned a lot and also remembered more than maybe i wanted to.. so here's my issue: i've been married for 1 1/2 years, together with this man for 5+ years.

  Welcome to the forum!!!

  The whole oral thing didnt bother me in the slightest, and altho my ex-wife used to feel guilty afterwards, it didnt stop her either, but I know where youre coming from (for want of a better phrase) because it used to play on my mind a bit.

  What I would suggest is you perhaps talk to another therapist, get a 2nd opinion, especially as you dont feel you have much progress.

  Really interesting book I read lately:
  New Passages, by Gail SHEEHY

  Thanks Spaznik- I'll look it up!

  I researched the Bible along with WTS doctrine. I doubt it's God's word, but I could be wrong.
  I doubt anything in Genesis happened that way, but I could be wrong.
  I doubt Jesus was more than a smart man, elevated by his own doing and by men after his death,
  but I could be wrong.
  I feel that natural forces formed the earth, using a form of evolution to bring life to it, but I could be wrong.

  OnTheWayOut- exactly! I'd rather be humble and admit I dont know for sure than be adamant that I'm right and everyone who doesnt agree are wrong! I just wanted to say that was really well put!! I'm really pleased that so many people agree with (kind of) shall we start a cult??? (kidding)
