being a jdub, to me was like being a rebellious redheaded stepchild in a way.
Yeah kinda right crumpet. I was a heavy drink/drug person who got bored with it, bored of doing what everyone else was doing, bored with the system and bored by hipocritical hippies who were more selfish and narrowminded than their parents who they were rebelling against.
Then I got bored with the jw propensity to lie and ignore massive doctrinal changes.
Life is no longer boring because its all mine, I am responsible for what I think and do. Ain't life grand?

You hit the nail on the head!!! I had truly forgotten why I joined the jws. It was the ultimate rebellion against the system, even the counter culture. Thanks for reminding me.
the united way realized that it had never received a donation from the city's most successful businessman who is a jehovahs witness.
so a united way volunteer paid the jw businessman a visit in his lavish office.. the volunteer opened the meeting by saying, "our research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you don't give a penny to charity.
wouldn't you like to give something back to your community through the united way?".
I couldnt follow the old aussies ramblings. It's a joke man!

so a few of us have had some very dull jobs - who has had or currently has a job that they love?
All my jobs since the boring one 30 yrs ago have been interesting. Currently a street youth worker at nights. Great fun and always interesting
...that doesn't benefit society at all.
you know - the ones where people get paid buttloads of cash for basically doing nothing that helps people in general.. i'll start off.

it can be quite confusing at times.
Don't see ém anymore. I reckon the door to door action is slowing down. When I used to see ém, it was usually Sunday morning after a lie in, a read of the paper and good coffee, while driving to the beach. Dressed up like 60's readers digest adverts..... Tragic
