it has been so long since i had anything to say on this site.
but here it goes.... for those who don't know or remember my story... five years ago i walked out of the kingdom hall for the last time.
it was the weekend after my dad tragically died and just a few weeks after reading sites like freeminds.org.

These things have gone on since the birth of time. The black plague wiped out a THIRD of Europes population!!!! Jw's don't like to dwell on history too much as it proves life is actually better for most humans now.....
so katrina is one of the worst us disasters ever?
are there any other governments stepping up help the united states?
does anyone remember the tsunami outrage?
Just heard our national news. Australia has offered an expert team experienced in natural disasters which we have had plenty of experience with. We call hurricanes cyclones down here....
I don't reckon the world realises the shear enormity of this disaster

I have an aversion to holding my nose and allowing someone else to dunk me in a bath.
Just can't imagine why.
I guess I'm now of the opinion that religious belief is not identified by outward signs. It's more a matter of the mind and emotions and of course spiritual inclination.
as long as the internet is alive and well, so too are our words, thoughts and ideas.
even after we are dead and gone, places like this will house our thought and ideas until at least, the internet is no more, if not the end of this system of things.
are you leaving for your loved ones and others, a place for them to view your life, your words and your energies, as a means of keeping your spirit alive, even after you have daparted in death?
I'd rather my loved ones have their own unique memories of me rather than me talking from the dead, so to speak....
Then they can sit around occasionally and say, remember when dad (andy) did this or that and they can have a good laugh at my expense!!!
i went over and visited my parents today.
my mom broke her hip while we were in hawaii, and i've been mostly house/bed ridden myself since we got home.
so i finally got over there today.. we talked a little about the hurricane, which was on the news she turned off.
I rememder my (ex)mother in law telling me that her mum reckoned she would'nt need a decent education cause the new sysytem will be here.
Well, Granny died years ago, my mother in law died about ten years ago, I'm nearly fifty, my daughter is about to have another generation and I reckon the world hasn't been better!!!
Is the term, just around the corner, figurative like the generation is??? Tee hee

after being on here now for a little while, i decided to ask my mother this weekend about whether armageddon is still supposed to come before the generation of 1914 is gone.
so this leaves me a little confused- is this right, is this what they still teach?
or has something changed?
It was the end for me(if not the generation). As I recall the wts said that the generation was now figurative, rather than a literal generation. E.G. In my father's generation....This statement doesn't point to an exact date!!!!
I met with the elders just after that wt and they denied that there was a change...We always thought this....... I was horriied to see the real truth, that jw's just don't really listen to what is said by the wts.
After that meeting I went home and checked the jw cd rom and did a search on generation. Literally scaes fell off my eyes. The most terrifying reality check in my life. Never walked into a kh since...
as numbers and meeting attendance statistics continue to decrease in western lands, do you think the wtbs may someday relax it's current clothing and grooming policies to facilitate better attendance and make the meetings more comfortable?

No because the pharicees wore distinguishing clothing to set themselves apart from mere mortals and jws are modern day equivilents
