Thankyou for your kind words Babayaga. My early (and continual) experience was with aboriginal Australians. I used to ask questions about spiritual matters, only to be given vague answers or silence. After a period of time, a story may be told but again I would ask for detail, only to receive a quizzical look and more silence. Or I would be taken to a sacred place without being told and my reaction observed. I can look back and laugh at myself now because I realise they were opening doors of possibility and I was immediately slamming them shut again. They are very patient people....

Would You Go Back?
by Dune inyesterday, my aunt was talking to one of my siblings about how things have been changing in our [ex] congregation for the 'better'.. she mentioned how a new circuit overseer has come in and is shaking things up.
the co appointed a ministerial servant (someone, the po & secretary didn't like and i know would never have voluntarily suggested appointment) and some of the 'brothers' that have had no 'responsibility' ever are being given #4 talks.
she also mentioned that the book study will be cancelled and the meetings are being shortened.. a ministerial servant who had a vendetta against some of the elders wants me to talk to a co and basically tell him i left the congregation [and the religion] because of the incompetence of the elders.. i'm not talking to the co and i'm not 'blaming' anyone.

Go back says it all. We can never go back only forward. Would you go back to kindergarten? Why not? Because you've already been there done that and it's only for children. Oh and happy birthday Mandette!!

Promiscuous or sexually free?
by brunnhilde inso i'm 37 and i've only been with one man, my ex-husband, in my entire life.
i just started a new relationship with a wonderful man but i'm fighting the preprogramming that comes from being a dub for 35 years.
how have other people overcome the inhibitions and issues that come from the ridiculously rigid sexual mindset of the wtbs?

It took me a while post jw to really understand sexuality. Sometimes I felt that I was just going through the motions, kinda disconnected, still pleasurable though. Then I learned that sex can be just playful, no rules or set steps. Occasionally I would just sleep close to a woman and gain a deep intimacy. Also learning to breathe and open up deeper energies. Lotsa fun and satisfaction. Still learning every day and coming to understand we all thrive on intimacy and touch.

OK that's the States covered (well China got a brief mention plus a storm or two in other places). What about the rest of the planet? I bet if you asked China/India they would rather be living now than any other time in history. But I guess they are only two thirds of the world's population..

Man, I would have been looking for the hidden camera and the guy to walk out and tell me it's all a joke! It's the same in OZ. The public aren't told when there are law changes. If asked, the authorities have a pat answer, security.

The animals on Utube were just wallabies. Kangaroos are much bigger. I made the mistake of trying to feed a large male once in a national park, thinking it was tame. When he came up to me he was well over 6 ft (2mtrs). I thought he was being friendly.... He grabbed my shoulders and started to lean back to disembowel me with his huge rear toes!! Adrenaline is a wonderful thing. Sadly, many of these huge roos have been shot out and are not seen on the East coast any more.

" so, i mused to myself, what do they mean by "kicks?

Good marketing started this off. National television news (can you believe it?) ran a story on the opening of the first outlet a few years ago. Gotta pick you up on one thing Witness 007. You said Aussies aren't big on coffee. Whaatt? This country is swimming in lattes and cappachinos. Where I live there is a barrista pleading with you to taste their wares every couple of metres. Ever been to Sydney airport? There isn't enough coffee outlets so they have stands...

Yes I understand. I have been through a similar situation. It simply needed time. My ex has since left the jws and done a LOT of work on herself. She is fantastic now and my children are so happy. My job is working with teenagers, so I see this situation a lot. From what you have written, is seems that your ex has formed a whole new life but kinda wants his "cake and eat it too" as far as the kids. It also seems like you are the stable one in this dynamic. If you want advice, I guess that is it. Your role is to be the "rock" in your children's lives, setting boundaries on them and your ex.
