Oh, the pain
by Cirkeline init hurts like hell to listen to my 17 yo girl, crying, saying she misses our real relationship.
that she gets depressed every time we talk about spiritual things.
and i really do the utmost to leave it out of our conversations.

The best way to change her heart is not try to change her mind. Be the best example of a normal active balanced adult and at least at first she will respect that your decision has made you happier and healthier. Eventually she will see there is more to life than meetings and paradise hopes of the child.

now, some chefs are seeing the strongly flavored spread as a unique gastronomic opportunity.
wsj's rachel pannett reports.. sydneyvegemite, australia's best-known condiment, is leaving a bad taste in little mouths.. beloved for generations down under, it has been derided elsewhere: formula one race-car driver mark webber travels with it in his kit and actor russell crowe eats it with tomato.

Yeah BTS, I was raised on it. Nowdays, I mainly use it for stock or making gravy. When I was a kid, it was a staple for kid's school lunch but times and tastes have changed a lot.

What did your personal big AHA moments look like when you saw through a LIE or suddenly understood a TRUTH?
by Fernando in"what is an aha moment?
it's a moment of clarity, a defining moment where you gain real wisdom - wisdom you can use to change your life.".

I was the same as Perry. 1995 WT on the generation. I asked the elders about the change...Their answer? What change?! I was told that that my explanation of a literal generation was "apostate thinking." When they left my house, I did a 2hr search of the WT CD on generation. There it was in black and white, the slow change of the belief through the late eighties early nineties (Actually silence, no articles.)
AHA moment and I never put a foot in a KH since.

Hey CoCo maybe shoulder pads are coming back! The jws fashions are always thirty years behind.
Also it looks as if her right hand is going for a concealed weapon and his reaction is appropriate. With that plastic smile on her face as well, I would give her anything to get her out of my office too!

NEW LAW Starting July 2012 in Qld Australia Preventing Door to Door Sales
by Hopscotch ini just read this in our local newspaper this morning and thought it is very interesting.
this law is aimed at door to door marketing by companies but i am wondering if this may end up including religious 'sales persons'.
the comments below the story are worth reading as jw's and religious callers are definitely who many people want stopped under this new law.. .

As I recall from college years Aussie system is based on a "Washminster" system. Not exactly Westminster as we don't have a House of Lords. But we have a Constitution which James may have been referring to and I agree with his statement that laws are being changed under the guise of antiterror or in this case privacy but these changes often have implications that we did not intent....

All there is is you. That is it. You are the only one that can open doors, create opportunities. You and the decisions you make.
Now that is the REAL secret.....We are the "gods" of our destiny.
Hey and stop the silly thoughts about suicide and hopelessness. I didn't even leave the jws 'til I was 40 odd and only then did life really take off. Yes I had been suicidal and have had friends kill themselves but what kept me going was...You just never know what's around the corner.
