rutherford's (in)famous slogan "millions now living will never die" appeared in a sci-fi book, part of which was written around 1949.. the novel is "cities in flight" by james blish.. in the first section of the book (there are three or four sections to it), there is a religious group that plays a minor role in the novel that is shooting fireworks into the sky to display a message.

the message is:.

*** millions now living will never die ***.

Organisational Re-adjustments

right so i'm plowing through "crisis of conscience" and have come across one of the ""most significant organisation re-adustments in the moden day history of jws", where they speak about how the organisation will be run because of knorrs' failing health and how extra men will be appointed.

it got me thinking that surely they could have come up with more exciting changes & take overs.

it seems that everything was made to seem that this was a huge & signifcant thing in the everyday lives of us normal plebs, when in fact it went un-noticed really.

Generation of 1914 gone!

is the generation that saw 1914, now dead and gone?.

if they were born in 1900, they'd be 105 now and there are not many of these people left.. if they were born in 1914 they'd be 91 and there are not many of these left either.. can we say that the early light of russell and rutherford, and nathor knowrr is well and truly disproved?.

can we say it's just a matter of time before the new light is also disproved?.

I reckon in a few years time a two page article in the back of the wt will have a three line statement. 1914?1914? That was a 100yr old typo. We meant to write 2014. Then the waiting all starts again.

Does Jehovah protect his "people"?

an an exjw, i'm well aware of the fact that they arrogantly think they're god's only chosen people.. my family used to be frequently visited by an elder and his family.

my family strayed from "the truth", and they would constantly come to our home and try to get us back on the "straight and narrow" path.. so, what happened to this elder and his family?

their adult daughter was accused of having sexual relations with a 13 year old boy.

The arguement that it was sinful behaviour (and god not intervening) that caused the suicide and the broken marriage is a great examle of why jws are leaving in droves.

Shooting from the hip judgements and a lack of understanding and wisdom just doesn't cut it anymore in this modern and enlightened world
