  Favorite Cult Movies

  its getting close to assembly time and my wife will be heading up to salt lake to attend the assembly there with her relatives so i will be on my own for a week.

  i'm lining up my favorite cult movies to watch while she is away.

  here are some of my favorites: the meaning of life, idiocracy, swingers, ghost world.

  I reckon that it is now (what is a cult movie) a much broader brush stroke than the past.

  Two of the movies I chose were box office hits but they broke the mold of what was being produced at the time. They also produced a multi generational cult following, changed the English language and the way millions of people think about time and reality.

  But I do see your point in the classic sense. Check my other recommendation......

  i am not opposed to talking to in the car but texting, to me, is much more problematic..

  reding insight volume on "canaan" p.399-400 today i come across this unkown watchtower theory...noahs grandson canaan sexually abused noah while he was drunk!

  firstly can i say....yuck, why would he...noah was 580 years old!

  gen 9;22 "the expression "saw his fathers nakedness" may indicate some abuse or perversion that involved canaan is a reasonable conclusion.

  Why elders are so CERTAIN of they OWN OPINIONS

  elders are told they are appointed by holy spirit.

  that means the supreme god of the universe used his force to appoint them over the flock.. that is a major big deal.. so when they get in that back room, and the body of elders meets, or they are on a judicial committee or shepherding or whatever, they think they are speaking for jehovah god himself.. do we realize what that means?

  that means that when they feel something, or they are emotional about something, or they get mad at someone in that room, they feel that is holy spirit directing them.. they don't realize they are on their own.

  Thanks for your honesty Bonafide.

  Yep that belief (that they are divinely guided) leaves them wide open for corruption e.g when an elders kids play up how "the boys" bury it, no questions allowed, closed ranks.

  Or elders hand choosing ministerial servants and grooming like minded ones for eldership. Actually, on reflection, it is bloody corrupt from top to the privilege of working on a magazine counter.

  if faith is belief in some thing or some oneother than onesself.... .

  then what does this say about fidelity or infidelity, faith in or apostasy from any thing or any one?.
