I like the Gnostic theory that the wise men at Jesus birth would have watched over Jesus (Who paid for their exile in Egypt? Why just accept him at birth but never show interest again?) and waited until he was of age to be taken to India and the far east to learn from the great mystics. They saw him as the Messiah, so of course he needed to be taught as much ancient wisdom as possible to be a fit spiritual leader.

Why Is There NOTHING Written In The Bible About Jesus' Early Years?
by minimus inwhy doesn't the nt have anything about jesus on record prior to his baptism?
after all, he was a perfect boy.
you would think that little jesus would've been talked about by everyone in the town,.

Has anyone ever heard this theory about God and Satan?
by serenitynow! inthat satan is the evil alter ego of god?
that god has some sort of split personality.
that would explain the mass killings of people while still saying that he is a god of love.

Well, I guess they both need each other. Imagine god without the issue of rebellion to "teach" humankind. How could god have displayed his perverse sense of rightness by murdering babies etc in a "perfect"world?
Satan without god would be one in a multitude of faceless soulless spirit creatures performing mindless tasks for infinity.
Sounds like a kingdom hall

Pad Thai needs garlic, chile, ketchap manis (sweet soy sauce) a little fish sauce (can be deleted) and the final secret is lime juice. Don't forget roasted crushed peanuts. Damn I love Bangkok!

I like facebook, as it is a simple way to communicate with family and friends. You must be careful to edit your profile so information doesn't get into the open. It's a social place as well, when someone puts a link to say, your favourite band is playing locally this Saturday, everyone of your friends get to see this info. I check it briefly through the day. You also get alerts in your email if you prefer, when someone responds to your comments.

do you think Jehovah, personifies love.
by booby inthe watchtower ?

the ultimate personification of evil, satan stands in bitter opposition to jehovah, who personifies love.. .

An earlier poster equated the Allied war effort with the Jews as far as killing innocents. Only one MINOR difference. god told the jews directly to do the killing, this god of love. That is what the thread is about.
Gang members have a clearer sense of love and honour, than the god of the bible.

Bit late to post but I was walking down the main street of my town about 10 yrs ago and there is Robert Plant sitting at an outside restaurant! I went up, as he smiled when I passed. We chatted and he signed my shirt..Like meeting God!!
I reckon Whole Lotta Love changed my prepubescent life.

do you believe in karma?
by SpiceItUp inwe have all heard the cliche' "what goes around comes around" but do you really believe it?.
i know this person that for many years has been unkind, devious and vengeful and then over more recent years has had bad luck everywhere they turned around.
i mean one thing after another.

Poppers if you do email me. With this primitive site, it may take a while to communicate, e.g. I can't change my profile info and the messaging sucks but I would be more than happy to provide what little info I have gleaned and can give info on places to stay etc.
Really, do yourself a favour visit Bali/Indonesia. Now I am really off for breakfast (it's 10:30am)!

Hey Poppers
No, I didn't enjoy that book and haven't seen the movie. I travel a lot to Bali, as Australia is close. Actually, I am in the kitchen of a rented villa in Seminyak as I write. Just had a Kopi Bali and am off for a latish breakfast! LOL!
It's truly magic place and I attempt to tread lightly when here. There is a certain power in this island that engenders respect, once again tying in to Karma and the intricate belief systems of these people

Actually, I am currently in Bali, where the people, despite much tourism, have a strong Hindu faith. I will not attempt to understand the intricacies of Karma but after numerous visits, have realised that when the people ask you "Where you going?" or "Where have you been?" or "Are you married? No? Why not?" it's not to be nosey but to "place" me in a mystical map of place. They have a deep need to see balance in all things. From seasons to good and evil, to romantic life.
So you can imagine that belief in Karma would be the cement that binds such strong faith.

Exwhyzee you stole my thunder!
Didn't jehovah smell a restful odour after the flood finished? That was the stench of trillions of dead fish and coral in the oceans.
Jehovah reckons there's nothing like the smell of death to ease a stressful situation..
