I am only aware of one Nabonidus but if you ask Jeffro he will make up one for you as he is in the habit of making things up and living in self delusion.
Idiot.

How do you arrive at the date when the Jews assembled at the temple site?
I'm going to assume you're asking about the reconstruction in 537.

His beginning of the Exile is the Fall of Jerusalem which agrees with WT chronology.
And it's wrong. As a Protestant theologian, it's unsurprising that he has at least some theology similar to an offshoot of a Millerite Adventist sect.
Albertz begins the first deportation in 597 BCE
Yes. It wasn't something Jonsson made up at all, was it, scholiar?
but the Exile began with the Fall of Jerusalem 587 BCE.
Wrong. See Jeremiah 52:28.
Further, he does not discuss the seventy years of fasting as of Zechariah that I could find by means of the Index. The seventy years of Jeremiah he dates from 587-517 BCE.
I don't really care what Albertz said about the period from 587 to 517. I said what that period actually was.

Looked at the official looking fb page and it is in foreign so obviously isn't wts'.
Which 'official' FB page was that?
I saw one that had a modified JW.org logo (with the word "dot" instead of a dot), but it isn't official (and it says so). And most of its subscribers are from Ghana.

Interesting only focused on little kids...
Except the most recent video on the 'JW.org' YouTube channel is about preaching in prisons.
Worse still, the first recommended video at the end was a BBC documentary about pedophiles in prison. I'm not they want people to make that kind of connection.
Based on the facts that they can't control other recommended content, and they haven't blocked comments, I'm strongly leaning towards "not official".

July 15, 2013 WT for Dummies
by Calebs Airplane in"faithful & discreet slave" nu-lite crash course.... before october 2012.... the faithful & discreet slave were all of the 12,000 annointed christians that are still alive on earth.
they dispense spiritual food at the proper time and are represented by a small group of powerless and humble men in brooklyn known as the governing body.
this may be compared to professional athletes of a particular sport who hire publicists and/or agents to represent them.. after october 2012.... the faithful & discreet slave are only 8 elite men in brooklyn, ny who collectively call themselves "the governing body".

So I guess that leaves Don Adams as Chairman & CEO
Maybe. But the way they run the show, I'm thinking it might be a different Don Adams though...

Albertz' history of the Exile uses different chronologies for the exile but begins the Exile only with the Fall of Jerusalem and not some earlier date proposed by Jonsson and others.
The first and most significant exile of the Jews to Babylon was in 597BCE, after a three month siege. That isn't a "date proposed by Jonsson and others". It is broadly recognised.
Further, he treats the matter of the seventy years from 587-517 BCE rather differently as well.
There were 70 years of fasts, to which Zechariah refers, from 587 until 518 (inclusive). This has no direct bearing on the 70-year period for which the nations were serving Babylon, which ended in 539.

Doug Mason:
Except that I argue, as do others - including Jewish sources - that the period between the destruction of Jerusalem and the exodus into Egypt was far longer than 2 months; more likely 4 years.
It's certainly possible that more time elapsed between Gedaliah's death and the later events, and it's probable that those were the exiles taken in 582. But it has no bearing on the actual 70 years of Babylon's dominance anyway.
Their problem then lies in the fact that they require the land to be "empty" for the 70 years to run but they wait until long after the first Jews return from Babylon and settle into their towns and villages, then walk to Jerusalem before they end the 70 years. They have no parallel, just a solution looking for a way out.
Agreed. Basically, JWs are either wrong, or still wrong.
Their real issue is proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that their ending event is correct
Indeed. Unless Josephus and Ezra are ignored, the only possible year for the return is 538. But the return of the Jews as the end point of the 70 years is also a "red whale".
Since Babylon's king was 'called to account' in 539 and Jeremiah 25:12 says Babylon would be called to account after 70 years, it's a no-brainer.
