this is my latest video.

it is part 1 of a series that reveals the mathematical trickery watchtower uses to con people about the 1914 doctrine.

Ezekiel 40:1 confirms that the Jews reckoned their captivity 11 years prior to Jerusalem’s destruction.

Trivially, Nebuchadnezzar’s 33rd regnal year is 14 years after he destroyed Jerusalem in his 19th year.

In preparing your videos, ensure that you correctly consider whether sources count the accession year as part of the reign.

For Judah: 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles and Jeremiah use Tishri-based dating and count accession years.

For Israel and Babylon: 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles and Jeremiah (except 52:28–30) use Nisan-based dating and count accession years

Daniel and the Babylonian interpolation at Jeremiah 52:28–30 use Nisan-based dating and do not count accession years

Ezekiel counts Nisan-based years of exile.

It appears that the video does not properly account for the fact that the author of Daniel does not count accession years, whereas the author of Jeremiah does. Both verses refer to events in the same (Nisan-based) year, but the events of Daniel 1:1 (January/February 604 BCE) actually come some months after those of Jeremiah 25:1 (September 605 BCE).

I have not watched the other video parts (they don't seem to exist?), though I fear that if it goes in the direction of taking '19' and '14' from '1914' and using those figures for some purpose during Nebuchadnezzar's reign, then that would constitute an equivocation fallacy. (This might be okay if it is used as a mnemonic only rather than asserting some special significance.)

(It's not even worth bothering to deal with the erroneous drivel offered by 'scholar'. His suggestion that 'kingship' means something other than reign is entirely false as the term in the original text is the word for 'reign' and has nothing to do with vassalage.)

Before 1990 did the watchtower magazines have a Price tag

did the awake and watchtower magazines have a price tag on the front page saying .25 cents or one quarter dollars in print.

i remember they we're 25 cents americans dollars.

A specific price was indicated for all JW publications prior to the Jimmy Swaggart case regarding taxation on religious literature. A price tag was not included on the cover, but the magazines provided the price in small print on the inner front cover.

Awake!, January 8, 1975, page 13:

No doubt you noticed how inexpensive Awake! and The Watchtower are—just five cents (U.S.) a copy—whereas other magazines today often cost seventy-five cents per copy and more. Do you know why? It is because Awake! and The Watchtower are produced by a unique family that is interested, not in material gain, but in providing information that they believe is of vital importance to others.

Um... no... other magazines are more expensive because they have to pay their staff.

Do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe the 1,000 reign of Christ Jesus began in 1914 ?

if not ,why do they claim he took up his power to reign as king in 1914 ?

do they claim that ?

or is it that he has only returned awaiting for god to give the throne to him.?.

Their doctrine about the 1,000 years is a complete mess with only very superficial biblical ‘support’. They do not believe the 1,000 years began in 1914, even though they believe Jesus began ruling then. They ‘justify’ this belief on the basis of Jesus described as sitting or standing at various times (because that’s how math works). They start the 1,000 years from Satan being bound, though they ignore the fact that Revelation says Satan is bound so he can’t mislead the nations that exist throughout the entire 1,000 years and are biblically synonymous with Gog and Magog (but not Gog of Magog). They also ignore the fact that it is the great crowd from all nations who rule as kings and priests for the 1,000 years, whereas the 144,000 would rule as kings (but not priests) forever.

"extremism" -- What specifically did Russia ban Jehovah's Witnesses for?

russia's reason for banning jehovah's witnesses is said to be due to extremism.

but what exactly does that mean, or refer to?

specifically, what practice (or practices) of jehovah's witnesses does russia consider to be extreme?

I'm not sure that anyone in this forum would have direct insight into Russian government decisions.

It doesn't take much digging to find that the general motivation of the Russian government making an example of Jehovah's Witnesses is that they don't want US religious sects affecting Russian people.

Of course, statements that "human governments" will soon "cease to exist" and that Russia in particular is supposedly a biblical 'beast', and that "multitudes will soon lose their lives" could also play a part in Russia's view that some JW teachings are extremist.

No. The letter does not refer to 'kicking out' inactive JWs. Since earlier this year, the Watch Tower Society has made a distinction between "members" and 'those in the congregation', and these letters are consistent with that. The "members" of the corporation must, in addition to being 'active' JWs, be at least 18 and there is no indication whatsoever that the Society is saying those under 18 are no longer JWs, and they are still 'members' in the typical religious sense though not able to vote on matters of the corporation. (However, it is obvious that they do not want dissenting 'members' (in the religious sense) from being able to vote on matters pertaining to the local corporation.) Nor would it be necessary to tell 'those in the congregation' who is actually considered a member of the "corporation" as all could individually believe themselves to be members in that sense, but their votes simply would not be counted. JWs are generally trained to vote as expected on congregational matters anyway, hence the pre-printed letters indicating the motions 'were' carried. Notably, a requirement of corporation 'membership' is to be "completely in harmony with the doctrines and organizational arrangements set forth by the ecclesiastical Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses", therefore disagreeing with a motion ostensibly set by the Governing Body could disqualify corporation membership.

The other thing is telling the congregation that org maybe won't be around. They would never do that. They just lie and lie everything is great the whole time will selling out everything.

The wording seems to be more crafted around ensuring that moneys go to an entity with tax-exempt status, but even if they believed it credible that the New York corporation might be removed altogether, they would make all efforts to disburse the funds to their other various entities.

No. The letter refers to annual and special meetings of a local congregation corporation. It is unclear whether it is indicative of something similar happening in all US congregations.

Think the documents are fake. Or possible tampered with.

Doesn't seem to be any basis at all for that claim.

I’m not familiar with US water rights law, but it would seem that signing those rights to another party would serve as an encumbrance if a local congregation wanted to later sell their hall independent of the watch tower society.
