Indeed. It seems they don’t understand that presenting a growth rate where there is no previous value would actually be an invalid division by zero and so growth should be left blank or otherwise similarly noted for new entries. (And Monaco apparently wasn’t counted as one of the 33 ‘other countries’ before, which hasn’t changed.)
Their growth rate percentages are usually accurate, and demonstrably based on the average publisher figures and not the peak (which is less reliable and can count some members twice). But in their public FAQ page about how many JWs there are, they promote the peak figure instead.

I noticed that they have started reporting activity for Monaco, and they call it a 100% increase over the previous year. That isn’t how math works.

I’m just trying to work out why you think this is a reason to discount JW growth compared with other groups.
🤦‍♂️ Do you need everything explained to you?
If I have 5 apples and I eat four, then I buy 2 apples, I have 3 apples.
If Jane has 5 apples and eats only 1 apple, then buys 2 apples, she has 6 apples.
Jane has a higher apple retention rate regardless of separate factors related to growth.

Yeah, it’s always best to “do your own research” by checking obscure YouTube channels and Reddit threads for this type of stuff. Don’t concern yourself with pesky ‘facts’ from reliable sources—they’re probably put there by demonses anyway.

It sounds like you’re saying that because there is a reason for JW growth therefore the growth doesn’t count.
🤦‍♂️ Sure, whatever gets you through the night. 🙄 That paragraph was fairly obviously about retention rather than growth, but you can spin it however you like.
JWs do also have a very high churn rate compared to other denominations, with a non-trivial proportion of short-term members briefly affiliated and leaving but this is a separate category of members to those impacted by the previously mentioned retention issues.
More specifically, perhaps you’re saying that JW growth is morally tarnished because it’s accomplished by a practice you don’t approve.
Oh goody, a straw man. Who cares about what people actually say if you can just make up their opinion for them. 🤷‍♂️

Clearly the birth/ POMI / fence sitters rate is superseding the apathy that exists with in, as demonstrated by the census. What other conclusion can you come to.
It’s more complex than that. POMIs (etc) could be offset by families with multiple children who are counted as JWs in the census. This could also include spouses and adult children in the household who are counted as JWs by the ‘head of the house’ completing the census form.
