  When was it time for you to walk away from your congregation meetings and the WTBTS?

  the basic virtue for a human being is to be true to yourself – the integrity of thought, emotion, and action.. .

  ten years ago ( after 32 years as a jehovah's witness), i finally decided that my own mental sanity and being true to myself was more important than attending congregation meetings and serving the watchtower society.

  i stopped (years before) field service, the ministry school, answering at the watchtower studies, missed numerous meetings and walked in minutes before the meetings started and left after the closing prayer, i knew it was time to leave.

  The first meeting but was brainwashed per the fantasies/garbage in the journals -- magazines. I was even told it's nothing like the mags indicate inside and yet people stay -- it's a snake pit.

  LongHair - I understand where you're coming from and they were/are hypocrites. As I was told the cult makes people jump through the hoops and an ex-Bethelite (they were very good humans, btw) told a couple of newbys so many people wanting to become JWs (during the late 80s) the 'society' (gag) made it difficult - all the baptism questions, rules, etc. Many you knew certainly hung in long enough for their retirement and I'm sure had no problem as members. Cults are not accountable and are lawless. At least you didn't fall for the crazy although they excluded you which is evil and they got away with it -- for a time. They'll prey on new vics and the bully cycle repeats itself -- members become burdens to the tax payers/more socialism. This is where the gov't needs to step in -- it's welfare/disability fraud like under Obama's reign. I know so many people who played the disability card. Heard for yrs about the JWs who went off on mental issues deceiving the gov't to finance their way through the cult - unreal. No wonder our country is equal (within few points) of the Netherland's socialization. The JW cult alone drives up the numbers.

  A life lesson for sure - lol "skin of my teeth" - scary! It's health devastating and how people stay for their friends is beyond me. I do understand the elderly holding on. I was told you can't walk away from "friends" (gag) because sooner or later you run out. So be it!!

  LongHair - I'm sure the sistas would have been much more comfy with you in poverty and begging especially since you were single and if even if married. That's their comfort zone. I saw the reality very early in -- unfortunately, elders would hound me or pull me aside begging (pimping) for their faves. I did respect the elders at that point in time. Had heard horror about one elder and his kids - dealt with it personally and OMG, but didn't blame the kids. Now I'd tell them to find another sucker. One horror drama after the other - what a pathetic cult!

  Yep - we all dealt with the career hearings -- no dance/sports, education, careers. I really enjoyed the long despot personal studies of where to live, size of house, stores to shop at to fit in - omigoodness. I saw the non-education for my child/nephew/niece as huge red flags when I was still asleep. Loser cult! I carried on and wasn't about to change my life.

  may be some writers were influenced but that does not mean all what they wrote was correct.

  does this mean there is no creator?

  Obama was always quoting scripture -- think ole horndog frequented his church a lot -- was that only show biz?!! Ahh, that's sweet. Obama is a flaming socialist and didn't know how to run a garage sale much less answer a phone call - too much social traveling and golf! Ole head-bobbin' Hil is clueless other than selling the country's uranium to finance her win - that's what I call a WIN-WIN except for thousands of voters regardless of Russia and other corrupt regimes along with Amazon. I think Biden/Ole Hil would make a hell of a team - one head/body bobbin to stay erect and the Biden - omg where does one start/hilarious! Balanced comedians (unbiassed - non-state sponsored) would become gazillionnaires over night! The Dems need ethical candidates and that might get them around the curve. Can't blame this on "creationists" nonsense. Running the country is a lot more than political wealth making for a thick wallet - much more. Business and creation are two separate studies.

  Some lame lawyers on the 'power-monger' Dem side. Unreal they can't even follow law but what else is new! Corruption unlike any other in US history.

  iwantoutnow - you're so right re/exchanging fairytales - have to be vigilant. My X-witness friend wandering/checking out one religion vs. another - now the radio/TV magic - endless but at least I've been able to keep her out of the JW bunkers after a few close calls and the way she was treated by the JWs' rules attending in her work-pantsuit to attend before rushing on to her job - thank you GB Goon Squad!

  How Many of you Remember Mr. Rogers Neighborhood?

  just saw the movie "a beautiful day in the neighborhood" with tom hanks as fred rogers.

  excellent acting and story-line.

  it brought back many fond memories as a child.

  Not one handout I'm aware of helped the flakey JWs -- just validated their entitlement status and career of con acting. They're in the halls for handouts/jobs and anything they can grab even preying on their own family members who receive disability/social security, etc. Some of us have first hand experience with these cons who can't hold down a normal job. A couple receiving handouts were doing show business pioneering for the in-circle for hall status/friendships.

  Maybe the GB goon squad should start a work program and set up auto-pay (commission) for their services once their con members have new patterns/work ethics. After all they are masters at manipulation.

  in the past, the former vp has challenged trump to a push-up contest and today he did again , only this time to an 83 year old man who told biden that he thought he was too old to run for president.

  it appears biden called him fat and unlike the man he wasn’t sedentary.
