  Longy - the testimonials I heard were hype. JWs didn't sell their boats nor did they give up clique/socializing or camping time for field service. Sure -- a couple of them didn't attend institutions of higher learning nor did they pioneer or spend one second longer out recruiting for WT. Most likely 95% theatre. The JW students who received scholarships used them! Some applied for college scholarships/loans. There was a window of opportunity allowed by the WT for extended education and a few JWs in their 20s/30s also jumped on the special. Perhaps decades ago there were those who forfeited scholarships but not recent times.

  Maybe they are resorting back to old, successful, business, model - good luck, suckers -- although there are plenty around that will fall prey to anything.

  Stuck in a university - one should be so lucky and great odds of learning compared to being stuck in WT land. Education costs money and WT wants it. I would not be able to contain myself at one of those conventions.

  WT needs to build up their slave class. Too many youth pushing the right foot down (gas pedal) exiting the first moment possible.

  Religions were paid multi-millions promoting the injections to their adherents, Watchtower most likely coerced "vaccine" having immense power over followers lives. I recall hearing or reading members had to be vaccinated to return/attend the meetings and so many people weren't hesitant about rolling up their sleeves w/all the media fear 24/7.

  the current memorial invitation campaign got me thinking about the few times over the years that someone i invited to a meeting actually came: .

  1) once when i was "new", i invited a friend to a sunday meeting.

  neither of us drove, so the brother conducting my study picked us up.

  Blondie you are 100% correct. Very biased against converts and assume one is or was a degenerate before being hand chosen to hang with their group. What a bunch of judgmental hypocrites.
  I don't think they accept or like ones poor or wealthy.

  Hey, Longy - the freeloaders are good at asking but I've a feeling the economic climate in the halls is challenging for those JWs who will be asked to donate.

  There are poor, underprivileged, people, in all religions but how many are against education or good careers, professions, like WT!

  What is the current Watchtower "rent charge per publisher" for Kingdom Halls in the USA???

  i was following a few threads in reddit from current pimo jws complaining about local announcements regarding halls being short on their per publisher "rent payments".

  third gen and i have been out pomo for a while...so how much is this charge now?

  could this be part of the recent push to get people to "come back" or get re-instated...if it even is online and 15 minutes of service per month?

  Longy -- the religion seems to attract a large share of society's misfits. -- don't think this was always the case but every religion, club, org, has their share. Like you've indicated in the past, the free loading is bound to be a bigger issue today. I'm clueless what goes on inside the halls today. All I hear is how loving and kind the adherents are -- I have my doubts. They were always 'sugary' when freeloading or playing the entitlement WT card.

  I think the publisher rent charge would be difficult for the disadvantaged to toss in the til. Elders must need lots of extra chunk change today to cover the real estate empire's Rolex/jewelry insurance (theft protection) pmts.
