when i was growing up in dubland, i always felt like i never "fit" in with the other kids in the cong or their families.
i always knew deep down that i didn't like being a jw and their had to be more to life than meetings and field service.
i just wanted to be normal, like the other kids and have sleepovers, birthday parties, after school activities and christmas etc..... my folks were and still are devout dubs and my dad in particular is the nicest man you will ever meet, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, no questions asked.
Did you ever feel like you never fit in?
I've never felt like I fit in anywhere. I'm the type who often says anything that comes to mind, which makes some people uncomfortable. I also tend to look for the opposite point of view of the majority because I can't stand the group mentality.
I did manage to snag a few close friends who put up with me, so I'm grateful for that. I'm also extremely grateful that they're not Jehovah's Witnesses.

It's quite an active board, isn't it? My month won't be up for another two weeks, but it feels like I've been here a lot longer.

I'm sure the JWs would still be against using it...even if it's their own blood.
I always thought the Bible meant that we shouldn't drink blood, as is done in many pagan rituals. I don't see why they have a problem with people injecting something into their veins which is already there in the first place.

I think it matters. Our beliefs determine how we view the world and ultimately how we interact with our environment. This may be at a subconscious level, leaving some to think that their beliefs don't affect others.
it's interesting how some people "feel" and "know" whatever their gut tells them.
some are making the outcry that michael jackson is clearly a child molester.
whether he was acquitted or not makes no difference to them.
He's one weird dude.
Who creates the definition of weird? It's all a matter of perspective.
Apparently Jackson doesn't think like the average joe. Although he's been around the world more times than I can count, he also seems to have had a very sheltered life. I don't think he should be judged because of whom he shares is bed with or because a bunch of twisted parents let their kids sleep at Never Never Land just to swindle him out of some cash. Parents sleep with their kids all the time, but that doesn't mean that anything shady's going on. He may see things from a paternal standpoint, or even that of a child. People are too quick to judge before giving people the benefit of the doubt.
Now OJ's a different story. Blood in the car, running from the cops, DNA evidence, etc. I believe he was found innocent mainly due to the recent turbulence over the Rodney King verdict.
today i visited a (ex)jw christian forum, the first one i registered to when i needed to talk about my doubts and thoughts.
i read my posts from 1 year ago, when i was really deep into research about the bible and the canon in particular.
now it will soon be one year ago that i finally accepted that there is no jehovah.
i now am an inactive atheist jehovah's witness

quits df'ing the sheep and provides loving professional help and compassion to see them through their troubles.
I'll go back when God has the balls to prove his existence by showing himself and telling the world that the JWs are the one true religion.
excuse me if i'm being cynical, but i've had my own experiences with [b]organized religion, though it was non-jw.
the group i was affiliated with demanded that full fledged members tithe (10% off the top of your income; pre-taxes), and a donation basket was also circulated at nearly every gathering in addition to tithing.
even kids were encouraged to participate; they would give them little envelopes to put loose change into and put in the basket.
Since the organization is basically a magazine-selling corporation, they don't need to ask for tithes.
...that doesn't benefit society at all.
you know - the ones where people get paid buttloads of cash for basically doing nothing that helps people in general.. i'll start off.

I concede that they do provide an entertainment factor to our lives, but do the services that they provide truly demand getting paid, say, $10 million dollars, for a couple months work?
Actors and actresses often work extremely hard for their roles, sometimes spending over a year doing research and physical/mental preparation. I agree that it's not worth 10-20 million bucks per movie, but the business is extrememly competitive. The execs know that higher-profile actors generate much more revenue than your average joe, so higher-profile actors can pretty much set their own price.
