  Thanksgiving Pies

  since thanksgiving is upon us i thought i would start a thread on pies.

  i make the same pie pretty much every year cuz it always disappears and i don't have to worry about eaitng thanksgiving pie on xmas day..please share your fave pie recipe and do try this version of classic pecan pie.. chocolate pecan pie.

  After countless unsuccessful tries, I finally have mastered the art of pie making...

  Hey, I am French, we don't have pies over there...

  Well, I still have problems with blueberry pies, always too runny... But my apple pie is the best I have ever tasted, the crust is flaky and golden, and buttery... I add very little cinnamon and other spices and let the apple taste come through... I use 2 or 3 different kind of apples... For Thanksgiving, I add one cup of fresh cranberries to the apple feeling.... Scrumptious...

  ok guys, (simon probably won't like this thread) what's the worst thing you did as a kid to a defenseless animal?

  me, i liked to throw rocks at frogs.

  my mom was so mad when she saw me..... the girls are gonna be pissed..... rotfl

  Getting Married as a Catholic

  my husband and i got into a discussion about joining the local catholic church, signing up for 2.5% of our income and getting married by a priest.

  never went to church until 5 years ago.

  we agreed to look into it.

  Never heard you had to sign up for a certain percentage of your income to join the Catholic Church...

  In the parish I was in, once a year, my family received en envelope from the diocese, or whatever, and you gave it back with a donation, whatever you wanted to donate, or nothing if you couldn't afford anything...

  Micheal Jackson....in trouble!

  the la district attorney says since the "abuse" ocurred out of our jurisdiction that they cannot file criminal charges (hopefully germany will) against micheal jackson.he does say however that they are working on a way to .

  (.now this is second hand info..i'm looking for an article on this ) to take the child or children away from him.. did you see the footage of him taking the kids to the zoo yesterday.he had burkas on them.what is this guy thinking?

  Troucul What a horrific subject

  I would never hurt an animal on purpose. I even have a hard time killing spiders or others critters I find in my house. I usually try to catch them in a jar and bring them outdoors. Flies.... yes, I swat flies, in the Fall, when there are thousands of them in my kitchen...

  first off, those who have left the watchtower are extraordinarily courageous and thank you so much for having the fortitude to post your stories publicly.

  you are all no doubt helping untold numbers of people.

  Welcome !

  I think it's great for this woman to have a friend like you. I am sure she has realized by now that what the Watch Tower Society teaches its members about non JWs (and Catholic in particular) being bad people, bad association, just isn't true. After all she comes back to you and seeks your friendship. Just be there for her. Does she know that the Society now allows the kids to go to College ? Try to show her how important it is for a young person to get a good education these days.

  I am sure you'll get more, better advice from others on this board.

  The way the JWs explain the star is just laughable. Satan put it there to bring the Magi to Jerusalem and Herod... Right...

  Where is God then ? Does He know about Satan's plan ?

  Why did they follow the star in the first place ? Because they knew that a star would appear when the Savior was born...

  Satan didn't do a very good job though, because the Magi didn't return to Jerusalem to tell Herod where the child Jesus was to be found...

  Why didn't Herod go with them and followed the star with them ?

  Oh well... It's almost Christmas... What do you think the dubs will be talking about when they go door-to-door ? Christmas is not Jesus birthday, and the star was a sign of Satan

  I can't see the video, but I saw the pictures. What a Creep ! Who would hold a small child like that ? He's holding this child like someone who has never been around children and babies, who does not like them, and who is afraid of getting dirty, afraid that the baby could pee or throw up... Poor little thing... Why didn't he bring the child to the balcony for the crowd to see the normal way, carrying him in his arms ? And why a towel over his head ? The poor baby must have been so frightened !

  If anyone of us was seen doing exactly that to our baby, our child would be taken away from us the same day and put in foster care...
