  Just received Crisis of Conscience!!

  i've already exited the jws in mind and heart, and have read many comments from everyone about the book, so didn't really see the need to buy it for myself.

  however, after reading something here on the forum, i decided to order it (and the tao of pooh and siddhartha.

  ) a super-dub sits two desks away from (she and her husband knew ray and his wife, had tea with them in their room when he was on the gb, etc.

  Finding a Penny a Day Thing

  i've mentioned this before here, but i still find it almost unbelievable that i find a penny every day.

  today i was taking a walk on the streets around where i live and i just remembered i hadn't found a penny today, and about 30 seconds later, there it was, laying on the street in front of me.

  it has taken a strange turn lately, for the last three months i have found a dime once each month instead of a penny.

  I find pennies and dimes too, usually in the parking lot of Wal-Mart or the grocery store. Yesterday, I found a 1 dollar bill on the floor in the boys clothes dept. My son was with me and he said : oh yeah, mine, mine mine.... OK, gave it to him. When we got out of the store, the Salvation Army was there, collecting money in their red kettle.... he gave the bill to them !

  just amazing.... artfully contrived false stories.... they must be thinking about all the bad press they've had these last 2 years about their protection of pedophiles amongst them.... What would a JW answer if you asked him/her if the reports of child abuse in the Catholic Church shouldn't be believed either, it's just "artfully contrived false stories" made up to make the Church look bad ?

  Parents,as you bring up your children in the discipline and mental--regulating of Jehovah,are you helping them to set spiritual goals and to "keep on the watch"? ( Eph.6:4 )Are you training them to view their future as the wisest person ever to walk the earth viewed his?Jesus could of been the greatest carpenter,inventor,or physician who ever lived,but instead he pursured the full--time ministry.May his example move you to help your children put Kingdom interests first in their life.

  Jesus could have been.... but instead he pursued the full time ministry.... Hahaha Ha ha ha, that's too funny ! He didn't come to earth to pursue a career in science or whatever, he came to be crucified at age 33 to save us... it's what the Bible says, isn't it? He didn't really have a choice, did he? So the Vieux Cons (tm) are still trying to keep youngsters away from higher education ! Sickening!

  Questions..falling in love with a JW...

  i'd like the answer to the "boy meets worldly girl" question as well.

  i was going to reply to the previous post but realized when i got to the end of my rant that other topics worth considering are mentioned in my message:

  as a "worldly girl" (well, i'm 29) i've spent the last few days reading all i can about "the society" and trying to figure out what the hell has gone on in my life for the past few months.

  I only know in my heart what is right...and what is wrong, and that I should always try to do what is right.

  ...and that's enough. You certainly do not need a bunch of old men in Brooklyn and Patterson telling you how to dress, how to groom, who to have for friends, what holidays you are not allowed to celebrate, and threatening you and your family with everlasting death because you'll never do enough to please them...

  And your boyfriend is using blackmail. Become a JW or I'll never see you again. Now, where is the love in implying something like that ? And JWs always tell you of the love that exists in their religion.... right !

  Blizzard conditions here in Vermont also. Very fine and dense snow, and the wind blows it around, can't see a thing a times... Had to drive this morning, the road had not been plowed yet, what a mess I do not like winter can't even get out to go cut a tree, it would be the perfect day to decorate it
